I have not been able to open any of my play packs since the update. I log out when I come back I still don't get them

No on my s7. I'll press it to open it it will act like it's loading. I went to another screen, came back to the PvP page and the countdown starts

Thanks for clarifying! Could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Your account is tied to Google Play Games, so you won't lose any progress.
