Time to face facts, the Ghost War player base is dying. It is now impossible to get a game in Australia / APAC (matchmaking for 20 min with a full party)
Ubi has been upfront in telling us that they have no planes for a Battle Royal mode despite GR wildlands being the perfect platform.
But now something has changed. IGN has publically named it the perfect game to support a Battle Royal mode, and in my opinion they are right.
Ghost recon has a huge & beautiful map, seamless & intuitive controls, and enough gear and equipment to keep every game fresh.
Come on Ubisoft, start putting some resources into this and bring the players back. I hate to be that guy but think of the financial return of investment. I would happily hand over the monetary amount of a new game for this dlc, or you could sell it as a stand alone.
They literally CAN NOT implement it into the game
It's because there are technical issues that can't be easily solved ubisoft has said this time and time again
It might be possible for the next ghost recon but it would require massive overhauling of a game engine that was never meant to support massive open world gaming in the first place
It's already monumentally impressive that wildlands has such an amazing open world due to the engine the game is running on and to add more than 4 players would most likely crash the game engine
EVEN IF they did some really clever tricks for allocating resources and reducing drain on the system (like not rendering anything outside the playspace, dropping all AI, chopping several other systems), and EVEN IF they had dedicated servers, the game probably still wouldn't support a large number of players. They'd have to trim so much to squeeze every drop of power out of the engine, all of which would be a technical nightmare, and they'd still probably only manage to get a few handfuls of players in there.
At this point Ubisoft would be far better served taking some of the talent and assets they have from Wildlands and building a purpose-made battle royale from the ground up.
Since IGN is written by 'journalists' that don't have to consider neither technial nor other arguments and just keep stating their personal opinions like they were facts I don't really give a ... about articles like this. I've seen so many completely BS ideas from these 'professionals' on game review sites that just keeps increasing my disrespect for them. These guys/girls are just gamers who happen to enjoy writting. They are no more experts neither for games nor business as the next average gamer.

Also, Ubisoft, when are we seein' AI character customisation and New Game Plus, aye? *HINT HINT I WILL PAY MONEY FOR THESE FEATURES HINT HINT*
Surely, those are technically more possible than Battle Royal!
