    [SUGGESTION] "Custom" difficulty

    Hello,

I'd like to suggest a difficulty that you can customize yourself, a custom difficulty. I am someone who likes to take out bases with my bare hands on extreme, however sometimes I have to rush towards people to take them out. On extreme the enemy takes out their dual Mac-10 within one tenth of a second and instantly start shooting at you. The whole base is alerted and you have to redo everything. Or if you are a rushy player and you like the difficulty of extreme, but dont want to die in 2 bullets. Or when you want to play stealthily but you don't want enemies to see you crouch from 400 meters away. Or when you've been infiltrating a base for 30 minutes and some random convoy spots you and ruins your entire mission.

The gaps between the difficulties are way too large. For most people easy, medium and hard are too easy, but extreme is a step too far. And sometimes the game's mechanics are in the way of playing in the way you want to play. Letting people adjust the difficulty settings could easily fix this problem. And as far as my programming knowledge goes, it shouldn't be too hard to make either.

When you select the "Custom" difficulty in the difficulty menu a few sliders will appear with all the things you can customize. Things such as health, damage and detection.

This is how I'd personally like it to be categorized:

    Regen time
    0% ----------[]-------- 100%

If you put all the options on their lowest, it will be just like easy mode, if the other way around, it will be like extreme. You can not get advantages by making your HP higher than in easy mode. Tier mode can not be enabled in the custom difficulty and nothing can be disabled (so that its compatible with COOP). XP will be the same as playing on easy. I get that some of the options above already have perks which reduce/buff them, I feel like tho the perks don't really help in some situations, I've maxed out my perk tree and still find myself in annoying situations as stated at the start of this thread.

Ofcourse the list above are my personal preferences. It could be drastically scaled down or completely changed. This system however would fix a pretty large issue with this game, which is difficulty. It could also bring back players who gave up on playing the singleplayer after they've finished all the missions to play in a more enjoyable way. Plus it would combine well with the HUD and player customization. And if you dont like it, you can still play the normal difficulties! :]

Please like the thread if you like this idea, I am not sure how serious ubisoft takes suggestions like these but its worth a try. And if you dont like it, please comment why.

I like it. Mixed in with the presets then it is a very good idea.

    I'm all for options.

i will love to see something like that but i don't think we ever going to see it, this is what i do, start a new character and don't max out your skill tree, just upgrade the ones you actually need, don't even do the rebel support stuff, so you don't get rebels helping you or screwing things for you, remove some stuff from your HUD, or as i do sometimes play without HUD at all,
however sometimes I have to rush towards people to take them out be patient don't rush nobody is rushing you, learn how and when they move before attack.
Or when you've been infiltrating a base for 30 minutes and some random convoy spots you and ruins your entire mission listen to your AI they aren't that bad, they will alert you of vehicles, choppers or enemies approaching to your position, you can also look at this thread for more ideas, works for me, maybe you find something to

Like Blue, I'm all about more options. ....something I found GRW lacking when it was first released and while the HUD choices were a step in the right direction, it all seemed to stop short there.

I also think slider-like choices in the controls would be very welcome for vehicles, character movements (like look and aim), etc.

This is nothing unique as other games provide fine tuning of these types of things. Given that Ubi has the bones now for a GRW2, I would hope to see such enhancements in the next iteration of this title.

I absolutely love this, and it's something I hope to see more of in more games. In this particular one, it would go a long way toward mitigating some of the flaws in the AI.

I'll let the team know there's interest in difficulty sliders! Would definitely be a cool thing that I'd personally make use of.

Please UbiInsulin, really plead this for us to the dev team; there needs to be more content for replayability.

On top of this I would like to suggest a couple of Settings in the Co-op Matchmaking to complete it:

    1. For Host of the group, to have "Apply My Custom Difficulty to Everyone Else in the Lobby". Result: custom difficulty made by the Host will override others' and fixed.

    2. For people looking to join, to have "Search for Custom Difficulty Session: On/Off". Result: players who set it to OFF will join those who doesn't have Custom Difficulty settings applied and it will be fixed.

    That is all.

Earlier, there were feedback to make difficulty setting fixed during co-op. I actually never care about it. But seeing how deep this Custom Difficulty will be, I think it's necessary for this one to be fixed/unchangeable during Co-op.

i think he made a good point, this way you avoid the crazy gunners, and you get more people who is playing the way you play, let me put an example, i play on Tier one and you can see how other players who haven't reached tier one are playing (guess you go trough that too), pretty sure once they reach tier one or 20 when they get killed by one bullet and they can see you from far away this players will change the way the play, running and gunning isn't going to work anymore, so to keep this people out of you team you use the suggestion above, is like a matchmaking on language, mic and difficulty
