Very nice initiative
(if you can make downloading movies work!)
CptLong and Jimbocry have been on the speedtrack too:I seem to remember CptLong
having done Fortlevel in 3.30,but they did no movies!
I tried Fraps,but couldn't make it work;the
30 seconds limit is way to short for the free version. And paying for questionable quality
software is not very Dutch:I'm gonna try GameCam (/lite) one of these days!

I have the full version of Fraps and it works perfectly fine. We have no limit on record time, can record higher frame rates, and lots of other options that the free version doesn't have. I don't know why the free one doesn't work for you, as it should and did for me when I first had the free version of.
There's a website dedicated to just this thing for HL2; simply named Half Life 3 Done Quick. http://hl2dq.tk/
Just to clarify Supersonic and Jimbocry's feat:
These times reflect getting through the level by any means. Most of the ones Jimbocry did, were done by "Bull Rushing" the level and taking out only what needed to be taken out. In "Fort", I shot no one. But, it involved a climb at the Fort, which avoids the door and everything else. You run over to the exit from the top, drop down and into the hall a short distance to trigger the end. "Factory" for example, involved no shooting. A mountain climb up and around, drop down onto the roof and trigger the end. In "Steamer" Jimbo stole the boat, sped to the creek by the road block, ran up, stole the buggie and drove straight into the facility, right to the Merc with the blueprints. When you rush these AI, they first alert, then ready weapons, while seeking cover. In "Volcano", I ran right past the last set of Mercs to get Doyle.
