My suggestion is to rework the 'donation' feature into a 'trade' feature, with the intent to strengthen the economy of Phone Destroyer whilst also providing players with increased flexibility and potential to acquire the cards they are seeking of any rarity.
As it stands, there is currently no economic 'sink' in the donation feature, in fact it is highly profitable to the player, even exploitable - cards can be handed back and forth between players (up to a daily limit?) with much to gain and nothing to lose.
My suggested feature will be both internal and external to current team functionality - meaning players can opt to request and action trades either with team members specifically, or externally via a universal trade market.
It will work like this:
Players can utilize the universal and/or team trade feature to acquire cards from other players by offering their own unwanted cards.
NOTE: Players can trade and lose their last card, and can request cards they have not yet discovered, providing they have unlocked the right to obtain that card by reaching the relevant PVP rank.
However, cards will not be traded 1 for 1 (bar legendaries, perhaps?) - there is a price - and that price is to forfeit additional copies of your cards into the economy sink. The price will vary depending on the rarity of the card you request. For example (subject to balance opinions):
Common 4/1
Rare 3/1
Epic 2/1
Legendary 1/1 but no Xp, coin reward
NOTE: Rarities can only be traded like-for-like.
This means for every 1 common card you request, you must spend 4 of another common card type (1 going to the player with whom you are trading, and 3 going into the sink); and remember, although you have only obtained 1 card, your trade customer also had to spend 4 of that common card.
NOTE: Xp and coin rewards will be increased x4, x3 or x2 respectively, to reflect the increased card expenditure.
The pros:
- Increases card value, benefitting Ubisoft
- Increases meaningfulness and value of finding the cards you specifically require inside packs and lockers, meaning bigger smiles when you find them!
- Creates incentive to gamble for required cards OTHER THAN epics and legendaries from lockers - again, benefitting Ubisoft
- Allows for daily donation (trade) limit to be removed, meaning players who opt to put time and/or money into the game can advance faster than before, relatively
- Makes leveling up your chosen deck more challenging concerning commons and rares, yet easier concerning epics and legendaries; bringing all into balance
- Allows players to obtain any card they desire, including legendaries (provided they've found like-for-like rarities)
- Unexploitable
The cons:
- You tell me?
How EXACTLY would it work?
Well, first the player will go to trade feature, wherein they will be asked what cards they require (from a list of all cards they have currently unlocked access to via PVP rank).
Once chosen they'll be asked how many they require - a maximum will be calculated automatically based on the amount of cards of that rarity they have available to forfeit.
Once a required amount is selected, they will be shown their own collection of cards and asked which they are willing to forfeit.
The selected cards will then be removed from their collection in multiples of 4, 3, 2 or 1 respectively, 1 of which being added to the universal or team queue unique to a specific card type-to-card type trade possibility.
If the queue already contains the card you are looking for, you will acquire it instantly, otherwise your card offers will join the queue awaiting a trade.
NOTE: It may even be possible to cancel a trade request and have your card offers returned to you
I think that covers it! Thoughts?
Just... NO
Why do you always have to make everything so difficult.
Not only is this a bad idea it's made way to complex for something that could be solved way easyer.
Just make a simple trade window possible where players can trade cards like for example in runescape.. where both players have to press a lock and agree.
This could be an idea to start from and add rules to.
(As it stands, there is currently no economic 'sink' in the donation feature, in fact it is highly profitable to the player, even exploitable - cards can be handed back and forth between players (up to a daily limit?) with much to gain and nothing to lose.)
That is the whole point of playing as a team?!
Why would you trade your cards if you lose all of them when you do it.. it would discourage teamplay strategy and reaching the high levels.
You do know you need 250 cards for level 5 right..... And that goes up to 3000. (common)
There is absolutely no need for a card sink as most players are already having a hard time collecting enough cards as it is.
This is especially true for epics rares and legendaries who became worthless because of this and high material costs.
Work this out, make it easyer and better... think about it a litle longer and then write a new post because this is not usefull at all..... absolutely not.
If all you want to do is submit your opinion with no mature and intellectual breakdown of the fundamental weaknesses in the idea or suggest ways in which the idea can be tweaked to be balanced and viable then you needn't have posted at all. It seems to me that you offered a completely alternative suggestion, in which case you should have created your own thread.Originally Posted by Geerti95 Go to original post
Apologies for being blunt earlier, you caught me in a bad mood. I put a lot of thought into that post and your reply was quite disrespectful.Originally Posted by Geerti95 Go to original post
Anyway, I understand what you're saying. Perhaps my example will make it TOO hard to level a card but that's subject to simple balance tests and calculations - no need to undermine the entire suggestion.
1-for-1 trades are certainly an improvement over donations in terms if tackling exploitable (provided xp and coin rewards are removed), however, I think that makes it TOO easy to max your deck, particular in regards to epics because you're basically getting at least 1 every day from pvp shop alone.
You want it easier I guess, I want it harder - that's a matter of opinion and you're entitled to yours.
