Good points. Some folks just hate change. Any time someone suggests something you always see someone write.. "go play call of duty!" So juvenile.

    Pretty optimistic/delusional aren't you.....

There might be a slight upswing in users at first but I really doubt it's going to double.

I could see those type of numbers for a Battle royal type game mode. But not a run of the mill TDM that you can find in a million other titles.

Battle royal simply because on consoles you either have cartoon fortnite or bug filled Pubg (for xbox) so I could see a Battle royal mode drawing in those type of numbers. But not a TDM...

Like I said the TDM mode found in a ton of other shooter has over saturated the market to the point some are just rather sick of the mode type which is were some of the "keep it out of wildlands" comes from.
Well I know the player base is well down based on the fact all my old GR friends of approx 15 years on xbox (over 40 of them) are not playing this new one. Why? All the classes which it never had, NO 8v8 like it always had, NO Seige like it had, NO LMS like it had and of course NO Sharpshooter (TDM) like it had. Oh and another big issue when you have lots of friends who have always played together you can only play 4 in a team. That is how you split up a community.

To all you new players to GR please go and look at the huge success GRAW and GRAW 2 were (yes the older stuff was just as popular but it's harder to find footage) and see how blinkered you really are when calling people CoD players... the game we all love to hate.

I do like this game BUT it needs some of the old school sparkle back. I play with old players all the time and every single night there is a complaint about the game and it not offering larger rooms along with the game modes that go with that. What is wrong with a game mode without all the tech crap and perks.

Guys, please keep the discussion civil, if you disagree with someone, please express it politely.

As for @Xbox_Controller, as we mentioned previously, we don't plan game modes involving higher number of players than 4v4.

    This is disheartening

"we don't plan game modes involving higher number of players than 4v4."

I've logged 15 plus years in Silicon Valley at a few of the most innovative disruptive Startups that have come to market and when building out a roadmap as it relates to product development a portion of that roadmap is always 100% without a doubt around what our prospective clients/prospects/partners and community are asking for. Now, granted these product enhancements always need to be vetted and put up against a business case but to turn a blind eye to such an obvious ask reeks of arrogance and a total disconnect between the company and the player base.

I'm happy to hear others are enjoying this game, I always root for folks to get what they want regardless if I agree with them or would enjoy them myself. Secondly, I don't expect or ask for a perfect game, in today's world of rapid release calendars products evolve over time, issues can be addressed, enhancements can be pushed out but none of those points matter if those on the product management team only look inward. I'm not naive and I do know at some level community issues are addressed, but these are light lifting in nature and not what anyone in the know would refer to as a "major release".

At it's core, this is not a what's in/what's out of the game issue, this is a lack of awareness, an inability to internally criticize and at some level pivot thinking to satiate a player base that clearly has a different goal for the product.

Not to begin an argument, but I fail to see how they aren’t delivering to their player base. Sure there are quite a few that bring up more vs more, but that isn’t a representation of the larger desire.

If you look at these forums you will see a certain group represented.............thise who are unhappy. Now you take this number and correlate that to your active users and you can get a sample size for the idea. What is more likely is the people who enjoy the experience do not visit the forums, so you hear a select few supporting 4v4 and opposed to more.

So when people begin to flaunt (not necessarily you) “the majority” wants this, they aren’t accounting for the silent majority. Some supporters of 4v4 on forums that use the community to educate and interact have grown weary of countering/discounting/opposing higher match participants because of a myriad of new, unhappy users come here to say something. Every person I play with enjoys the current model, and I am one of the only forum users. I like to read ideas and keep semi up to date with the community.

So I don’t view it as a disservice, in fact they are maintaining this model for the base that has enjoyed and supported the game. How they grow this will be up to then, but the reasons for low player count has been discussed by other users throughout these forums.

im not going to lie.. i miss the TDM or GRAW2 but this game is another level.. it is supposed to be slow paced instead of a run and gun. there is no fun nor strategy in running out in the open like a jackwagon getting shot just to respond 13 seconds later.

No worries around beginning an argument, this is more around having an open honest organic discussion so I appreciate the comment. That being said I can't help but bring my business hat to every conversation so forgive me. Simply put GRAW at it's roots has always had some form of TDM and to think that TDM has not played a very major component in it's success means there's a blindspot internally.

I just want to be clear, I'm not for taking anyway the great experience that any of you are having in any way shape form or matter, and I'm not suggesting a COD clone at all, never bought one, never played one and never will. TDM when played correctly by the right people can be both incredibly strategic and incredibly rewarding and in all honesty, without knowing the code base, expanding the player count out to 6 or even 8 and adding respawns is not complex, hence the frustration and the reference to an "easy ask".

sorry, this should read "taking away" not, taking anyway.

I'm not for taking anyway the great experience

You do not speak for the masses or the old 15 year GR players at all. There are a lot of players not on here asking for 8v8 because they have left the game they loved. There is not one player freom older GR I have heard talking or spoken to online who like 4v4 over 8v8. Sure both game modes can work along side each other.

It’s amazing just how condescending you like to be in the face of any discussion or opposing opinions.

Since you obviously hold the majority opinion, let’s hear it. “Old players.” You’re exactly right, isolate one part of the active player base because they didn’t play prior releases. Invalidate an opinion because it doesn’t suit your narrative. Even take to the forum boards to be increasingly combative with no constructive nature to your response.

It’s better for you to be condescending to the point where it creates nothing but unrest and dissent. I’m glad that you speak for us all as well, and offer immature insults about age, skill, etc. Easy to hide and hurl blind insults, demolish any conversation when there are no consequences for a crap attitude.

I’m definitely glad Ubisoft looks at these forums as a giant bickerfest and don’t take some of these “rage suggestions” seriously. You just help muddy the waters and lessen the positive impact of user forums.
