first i'd like to say, there are very few skilled players able of dodging this thing.. it takes great skill and quite a bit of luck mixed with current enviroment when you hearing it going off to even evade it... that being said, i'm going to conclude most saying 'no' will be those who use it... (sorry but it's more or less a fact, not an assumption)
now, who here thinks it needs a complete overhaul? i have a fair ammount of skill and can dodge them fairly regularly, but they always seem to nail me when it actually matters... i just think it's kind of ridiculous that the thing lands anywhere near you and you die instantly... i've been into online fps for years upon years, and i've NEVER liked explosives... to me they've always been chicken**** and we call them noob-tubes. that being because you don't even have to actually hit said person, you just have to get close to them, which anyone with just a bit of practice can do...
to me and i KNOW to many others noob-tubes destroy online FPS... i'm wondering how many here feel the same way....
how can you overhaul it? well you can drasticly lower the rate of fire on it, or minimize the splash damage (pretty much the majority plus for using this weapon...) or even reduce the ammount of ammo that can be carried, down to just one round... and trust me that will reduce the people who use it....
i use a variety of diffrent weapons in this game, and yes there is more then just that one that needs work, but by far, this the most over-powered weapon there is... it needs some serious revamping... there is nothing more frustrating then getting in a game full of 16 people and even hearing 2-3 of these things going off cuz you know the whole round is just going to be everyone getting blown up.... no matter how good or skilled you are.
the fact that a vast majority of game titles list MGL=BAN should tell you something, shouldn't it?

I think it's a Chicken-**** weapon. So is the .50 cal. So is the IED. So are the silenced guns. Also, the machine guns are all CS weapons, too!
If you ain't using the machete, you ain't a man.
Quit whining about the weapons. I rarely use the MGL, I prefer the Gunner class, myself, but I don't begrudge the MGL-***** his right to use it, just as I don't begrudge the camper his right to use the .50 cal (*if* he can get to his campsite...)
When I first saw the MGL-40 in Crysis: Warhead I thought: Wow - I'd love to use that!
When I found out it was in Far Cry 2 (which I was highly anticipating upon its release) I was ecstatic.
I unlocked it almost immediately and I've kicked *** with it since.
I have no hatred towards it, whether I die from it or kill with it.
