    Warden's Shoulder Bash - A Suggestion

What if... it had a minimum effective distance? Meaning, if you commence the Shoulder Charge too close to your opponent, say, I don't know... literally in their face, it won't do anything and give the opponent a free punish? Because, you have to understand, there are only three ways to avoid getting stunned by Warden's shoulder. You can dodge-roll backwards (which doesn't quite work in closed spaces), you can dash out of the way (which is only a fifty-fifty, and rarely works if you dodge backwards), or you can smack the Warden with a light attack to stop them, which is the most effective.

Unfortunately, there are some characters who's light attacks are too slow or too round-about to effectively "smack" the Warden, resulting in the Warden simply being able to Shoulder Charge the opponent from a starting position of "right up in the opponents' face", meaning that many characters simply do not have any real way of defending against it. Putting a minimum effective distance on the Shoulder Charge would discourage Wardens from pulling that kind of garbage, and balance things out.

Sadly that's not a great idea because most players can avoid a raw bash that isn't in hugging distance.

And? The Warden can still cancel it into a Guard-Break or charge it to gain Hyper-Armor.

At the range i'm speaking of (like arms length) both would be seen well in advance by those who are patient and wouldn't be a threat.
The charge is typically used when/if someone consistently tries to light you out of SB or you know they're looking for a cancel so you charge after already hitting them once.
Canceling into GB only works on those who aggressively dodge.
You've got a very short window on canceling. The opponent can easily wait to see what you do. This is even true in extreme close quarters but the timing on reacting to it properly is super tight at that range. Which gives warden presence/pressure on most players.

Why don't the devs just add a cooldown or an stamina cost increase every time you repeat the shoulder bash in a row and fix this disgusting vortex spam that easily?

Honestly I developed the habbit of quitting every duel I encounter a Warden, because there is nothing you can do against vortex. Of course you can roll ... but it cost too much stamina, and Warden can shoulder bash you also when you are OOS

    There is no way out.

While it can be frustrating sometimes it is really is his only unique move if they add more moves he might become over powerd. I really just think they should rework him from the ground up.

They should probably just give him some of Apollyon's moves. Redo the Shoulder Bash. Give him some mixups. Even though I despise mixups and think they're boring to watch / fight against.

What if we just give poor warden some love and no more nerfs lol. Been my main since beta 20 something reps on him, at one time he was feared now any competent opponent laughs at him. Top light and zone, anything else and your going to get Perried. Hell hes still got the only zone that’s punished on block/whiff. I know he can be frustrating to play against at first but once you get your spacing and footsies down we have nothing. One simple back dodge or just unlock and walk away and shoulder bash is completely negated.
