I'm most certainly not skilled enough to tackle Extreme difficulty! But thanks for the advice!

    Well noted, thanks!

Yesterday I joined a friend in co op mode for a campaign mission & when we completed it, the progress was saved for both of us. When I then traveled with him to tackle the next campaign mission, I was asked if I wanted to assist him with the mission & that the progress would not be saved on my profile? It's a bit confusing?

if the mission is picked by you then count as your progress and the others will assist with your mission, if the other player pick the mission you and the others players will be assist him with the mission and not counting for you progress, still you're getting the xp for mission accomplished

So I started playing with a friend that was a bit of a higher level than me. I think we are on tier mode so how can I turn that off? Is it easier without tier mode?

Host dictates difficulty level. ....and yes, Tier mode is more difficult.

Each region is rated in difficulty from 1 to 5 skulls. The lower the number of skulls, the easier the region is. For instance convoys in level 1 difficulty areas will have two plain escort vehicles without gunner turrets or escort helicopter, while the higher difficulty missions will have those things.

This is an open world game, meaning you can do any mission in any region in any order. The reason for that is to facilitate the option to make it play differently each time, and to let those whom have honed their skills collect better weapon parts in more difficult regions right from the start of the game. Open world design just makes for a less linear game, where you're not forced to do everything in a certain order.

The way to get best gear quickly is to look in the parts menu when customizing a weapon. For each part that is locked, it will show in the upper right of the screen what region it's located in when you highlight it. From there you have to unlock that region's map details by traveling to it. Each place you travel to unlocks the map in a certain radius of that spot. However to show further details like locations of skill points, weapons, weapon parts, rebel missions, and bonus skill medals, you have to access intel caches or talk to certain rebels, or interrogate enemies. Then a semicircle will pop up onscreen letting you choose which details you want to show on map. The choices are as previously mentioned.

Once any of these items shows on the map, you can hover over it with the mouse, and it will show what the item or mission is. Obviously things like a Heli drop vehicle and long range scopes are some of the things that facilitate easier travel and longer range shooting, but the heli is the last drop request vehicle available, and takes time to get. Keep in mind though that whenever a safehouse shows on the map, you can fast travel to it, which makes waiting for the heli a LOT more tolerable. Some safehouses also have helis. Note too that tougher regions have lots of SAM Launchers, so when flying aircraft, you need to stay low to the ground. Rivers work excellent for this. Flying by straight line of sight can get you shot down.

The way I always play it is to take on the level 1, then 2, then 3, etc, difficulty regions, progressing to the harder ones. I also gather all collectibles in a region before doing any of the missions in it. Most of them can be collected without overt combat. Conversely you COULD attempt to get things like the long range scope as quickly as possible, but it's not really necessary at the start. What I do instead is as soon as I'm at or close to the difficulty of the region it's located in, I go and get it. You have to be VERY careful doing such a thing though. It's important to first destroy all the alarms in the camp it's in, and take out any guards quietly that are between where you entered and the location of the scope. It also helps to highlight the position of the scope on the map, so you will be aware of exactly where it is at all times.

Some useful skills to upgrade early on, aside from health, armor, squad skills, etc, are the drone, and rebel support services like Spotting. Spotting is invaluable for when drone jammers jam the use of your drone. The only catch is, while Spotting missions are easy, only requiring finding lost air drop supplies and tagging them, they are usually at very high places that require a heli to get to. The trick to get around that though, is using a heli at a safehouse. I also like to equip silenced pistiol, the most powerful assault rifle available at the time that takes a grenade launcher attachment, and the most powerful sniper rifle. Unlocking the no damage penalty on suppressors skill as soon as possible also helps.

Lastly, it appears many aren't aware that it IS possible to take down convoys with mostly or complete stealth by using Spotting to tag the vehicle occupants, then having one of your squad sync shot the cargo vehicle driver. I like to also tag the guys manning the gun turrets on each escort vehicle in harder regions, then destroy the heli with my Desert Tech HTI to order the shot. Conversely, since the Desert Tech HTI is not available until you get to a fairly advanced player level, you could instead skip one of the turret gunners and instead sync tag the heli pilot (takes careful drone positioning). Then you can just order a mortar strike on the escort vehicle farthest from the cargo vehicle (you get only half points if it's destroyed), and mop up the rest with more sync shots.

Since convoys yield quite a lot of supplies used for upgrades, especially when the cargo vehicle is not blown up, it makes sense to learn quick and effective means to tag them. It also helps to search with the drone for any easy access points of camps, which include crates you can mantle to get over walls, doors that open with buttons, and doorways that have no doors. There are often good alternatives to infil and exfil via means other than a main gate that is guarded. Keep in mind too that there are sometimes gaps in perimeter fences, or you can just break them with a vehicle or grenade if in a place far enough for enemies not to hear it. Chain link fences with concrete bases cannot be breached though.

    advise

    Hi there..

If you look at your map, all the provinces have a skull rating up to 5 skulls, start at one skull provinces and work your way through all the provinces in order of skull difficulty...keep your difficulty at Regular until the game starts getting easy for you, then bump it up to Advanced difficulty...once you reach Tier 1 mode, you can level down to Tier 32 and the game automatically changes to extreme difficulty, but by that time you should be up for the challenge.

get all the skill points you can, stock up on supplies and upgrade all your skills, you're gonna need them...

find all the weapons, try them out, decide which ones you like best...because in Tier 1 mode you can use your supplies to upgrade the damage levels of your weapons you like most...
