Greetings Ghosts,
I've just started playing Wildlands. I think that I've been playing Destiny for too long since I'm completely lost on were to start with this game? The campaign doesn't seem to guide you on were to start? I love the fact that things go wrong unexpectedly along your journey to the next objective, but from what I saw on the tacmap, it seemed like I could start off anywhere?
Any tips & guides will be very much appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
I'd say go for Yuri and Polito first, the Missions in this Area are fairly easy and you get an Overview over the Core Abilities of you, your Enemies and the Gameplay.
After that you can chose whatever you want, go for more Buchones and Bosses, collect Intel, Weapons and Parts or Skill Points. Everything will help you on you Way.
I'd suggest to lookout for a Weapon Set you like and the Parts you need for your personal Style (very easy to find via Inet).
You can do one Mission here, and the next one in another Area. You're absolutely free in your Decisions. You can use the Area Difficulty Indicator (Skulls) as an Orientation.
One last Advice: Once you reach Level 30 you can activate Tier Mode. Don't do it until the Campaign is finished, as it can make certain Missions very frustrating.
Greetings.
there are few very useful skill that imho are good o be "rushed": parachute, thermal vision, emp drone, 2nd revive (you need all skills in a companion tree) and grenade launcher(helps with killing helicopters, mobs and cars)
as for the tier mode mentioned above - it's not a big deal. you'll start at 50, when you'll reach 45 you'll loose arcade difficulty, on 40 you'll loose normal and iirc on 35 you'll play on extreme. but you'll get more resources and some cosmetic stuff. even with a gamepad it's manageable and there will be only 1 hard mission: el sueno.
just logged in to clarify:One more question, are the forums/ messages accessible on the GRWHQ mobile app?
there are "news and community", guerilla game, satellite view, cia files and a link to a GRNetwork (through browser)
that indeed is true. when I've started the game my 2nd boss (after yuri and polito was General Baro in difficulty 5 location...because I wanted to get Vector smg ASAPbut from what I saw on the tacmap, it seemed like I could start off anywhere?
You can start anywhere you want and do most missions in your own order. But let's just say if you want to have a nice tutorial moment, settle yourself at Itacua before heading off to other province.
Yes, just like you experienced. Things can go wrong and turned chaotic. There are a lot of unscripted events and outcomes in the game. Always keep an eye out because hostiles may be present somewhere you didn't think they usually would be at. The game doesn't really handhold you. Therefore explore and try things out. Don't get stuck in working missions and side missions like a treadmill. Break in some bases. Turn them into your playing park as they will always respawn.
When my online buddy just got the game in October, he was engrossed into it and shared his story with me. I found that he's been doing something I didn't and even wasn't aware of. And you know what? That's awesome part of this game.
I hope you can enjoy the campaign as well.
Depending on the difficulty level you play on but if you start on Extreme Difficulty, I would advise to rack up (grind, farm) all skill levels first, level up and then do the missions, this way you will be able to take and yield more damage, otherwise, you die quick and the enemy takes a healthy amount of damage before they go down... when you are in Hunted or found mode or decide to go Loud.
Something to note when starting out is that some of the dropped weapons of your enemies may be worthwhile to pick up. Unidad snipers sometimes carry MSRs and that can be a big help in the beginning. Just be aware that you will lose the weapon once killed or if you exit the game.
Regarding Tier mode..... Personally, I would suggest playing the campaign first and then exploring Tier. It's a different animal with a focus on enemy AI abilities, spawn rates, etc. to amplify the challenge. IMO, They took a wrong path with this mode but you may find it enjoyable. I just think the campaign is worth experiencing as it was initially designed.
What platform are you on and what region?
When I first enter a new territory, I gather all the intelligence I can. You'll spot some skill points and side missions on your own, but finding the intel/interrogating people will really help you out when it comes to progression.Originally Posted by ccBOTES Go to original post
