How can most compete against people with heroic gear ?? Just to many level 1 - 10 against level 35s . its a joke, u go into a game and know u cant compete, its a bad feeling !!! The xp for non gear stat games is so tiny u cant rank up . Its amazing , give us extra xp , my god trying to rank up a new character sucks. Ubi u want your game to not welcome new players, job well done ..........
Ubi should add extra xp to lower ranks, so we can have a chance to catch up . It may be to late . You sold the game for cheap now, and all new players get matched with people with so much better gear its a joke. Its also nice that it puts lower ranked people together against higer levels , brilliant !!!
I love this game , but i dont think ubi knows how to make people feel welcome . I guess i can play duel for 3 months, lol , then i go into tribute and everyones level 8 characters. fun fun .
add ectra xp or watch the game die

While I do agree the the time it takes to get from Rep 0 to Rep 7 on a character is too much, a suggestion for now is to play Deathmatch, Dominion, or Tribute vs AI (without turning off match making) You still get pretty good xp that way and the fights seem a little more fair while leveling up your character.

In my experience, skill has always trumped gear. Gear, as I've experienced it, only plays into high skill/high level fighting, where an extra attack, or half a second boost to stamina makes the difference.
If I win over a new player with grey gear using my Rep 23, 180 geared 'Zerker, it has nothing to do with my gear, it has to do with experience. Even so, there's been plenty of ungeared players who've kicked my *** for a whole game.

I think most new players would not agree. Why not give extra xp to lower ranked players ?????? Ill try what u say wes , but its more fun playing against people. Tundra rank 23 zerka , well i doubt u get beat often by grey gear players. If the gear means nothing, why do u use it ? All u rep 8 or higher players use no gear and lets see how good u do . lol . New players hate fighting heroic gear people. And you are not a new player, so all is fine to u . lets hear from low rank guys. if there are any left.
Ubi should up the xp , why wont they , some people dont have time to rank up . cant we just play ?

Sure I do beat new players more often than not, but my point is that it's not because of my gear. Like I said; Skill trumps gear, but gear can matter in higher skill levels of fighting, which I sometimes find myself in.rank 23 zerka , well i doubt u get beat often by grey gear players. We have a user here, Hormly, who has a Rep 40 Warlord, but until quite recently he hadn't fully upgraded his gear. But I will still bet much gold, he could win most engagements, geared or not.All u rep 8 or higher players use no gear and lets see how good u do . lol
That's fair enough, It's easy to feel disheartened when you're surrounded by players with colorful gear. But don't be too hasty to claim that their gear is what makes them better.New players hate fighting heroic gear people.
It's a hard thing to hear, but no less true; A lot of players just aren't as good as they like to think they are. Looking for things to blame won't help you improve, but once you get past that hurdle and realize how you can become a better player, you'll see how little gear can factor into the gameplay.

Yes, you absolutely can. Like Wes suggested, you can fight the AI with other players, or fight only with AIs. There's no gear requirement to play in regular PvP either, just be prepared to face more experienced players. There's even a Duel tournament mode, no gear stats, and ranked mode if you really want to test yourself.cant we just play ?
There's plenty of ways to play For Honor, each with their ups and downsides.

Play against AI or play duels and brawl, where gear is deactivated and learn how to play, instead of blaming the gear.

Yes most games like fifa or rainbow 6 seige give better gear to players who play more ............. and it helps them in the main game . Name me games that give an advantage to people who play non stop . Even COD doesnt do that . Now have fun and play against ai . Im not blaming gear im blaming ubi , if they want there game to be for the few thats fine . Ok name me games that give a big advantage to people who play more , being gear or weapons ???

To be fair, I can think of a fair few games that follow this practice. You could argue COD does as well, players who play non stop from release will unlock all the guns and perks, which do give you bonuses players who don’t play as much would have. Like For Honor, you can choose to grind out and earn it all. Battlefield 4 is another example I can think off, I’ve put literally hundreds of hours into that game and I’m over level 115 and I still don’t have everything unlocked for each gun, so I’m missing some bonuses. If I was just starting off, I wouldn’t have every gun at all. But would I complain “ohhh, this level 50 player has guns I don’t have, you should remove every other gun or have all guns available for new players”. That would never take off. I’m pretty sure in every game if you played non stop you will always have more advantages than players who just picked it up, as your own skill would be much greater.Originally Posted by JESTER Z99 Go to original post
To get better gear, or operators in sieges case, you would either A. Need to buy the in game currency to unlock operators quicker, or B. Play lots to earn the renown to unlock better operators (gear). FIFA is a bad example considering the whole FUT is based around getting lucky from opening packs, which can again be bought with real money. For Honor is actually very different, because you can’t spend your own money to get an advantage. See the differences?
