So as the title says, game becomes unplayable when controller connected. Have looked everywhere online with no success, tried all the fixes I could find still no good.

Clearly says the controller is supported

So just checked with a mates XBOX One controller and it works fine, So whats the deal anyone know why I wouldn't work with the PS4 controller?

These kinds of hassles can happen after a period of "idleness," when the system detects no mouse or keyboard input. Blame Windows' power settings, which by default try to conserve power if they think you're not doing something. try this, go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options and switch to High Performance, that may help
