I have also had the same problem, but it only happened after I open my tablet back up and resume playing. And on my iphone I would be racing in a map and the game would crash like I was playing in the bunker trying to beat a person and it starts to lag and then it crashed but apple did release an update that could possibly fix it.

Yes, it happens and I haven't seen this before the Love Express update.
Playing this game for 2+ years (or how old is the game actually now?) I pretty much have a feeling of the controls how they should work 
I don't say I can ride very well still, but there's a difference.
iOS version etc in previous posts. The game version is the latest the store offers.

Same problems here. After latest ios. update / love event. Something really wrong here. Iphone 7 if wondering wheelie. Holla @negodyaeff or whatever. We need quickfix here homie!

Same here, experiencing major problems with lean controls on a 2017 iPad (particularly leaning back seems very uncooperative). I started to think I was wearing out my iPad but flipping it upside down resulted in the same problem.
I've had to use many many GTs in some bunker showdowns because of this issue. Sorry bunker pals
