    Mounts?

I wonder if there will be mounts, like horses, or bulls you can ride. I used to live in MT, so I know that horses are still quite common to see darn near everywhere, once you're outside of a city. Rodeos with bull riding still go on often, so a bull would be neat too. And while not an animal, snow mobiles and dog sleds are at around too. Where I lived, folks who worked in town ditched their cars and took snow mobiles to work. If you still drove your main vehicle, it had to be 4 wheel drive and have tire chains to get around in the snow and up in the mountains. I miss it there.

I would hope so because the mechanics were there from FC4 in riding Elephants - shame we couldn't also ride the Rhino in that game.

They have showed bulls and cows and some are in hope that there might be some kind of Bull riding mini game so maybe there will be some kind of skill progression where you can ride a bull - horses would be superb but there have been none shown in any footage so I have my doubts now

No idea but it's certainly odd that they haven't showcased it in any way being that FC4 elephant riding was one of the first things to be shown in early trailers.

Hmmm...well, it's still a few months out and they could always be added in. I'll cross my fingers but not hold my breath. If they do, I'd hope there's other mechanics involved, like saddling the mount, and possibly having a shoed or unshoed horse making a difference in speed and dependability. I'd hold the square button to shoe my horse and saddle it. Heck of a lot easier than in real life!

For sure horses would take more than a couple months to properly implement into the game. I love the idea of horses & am hoping that they've just deliberately avoided showing them to surprise people down the road, but I'm feeling less & less like that will be the case. If they are in the game, I can't say I'm really interested in the idea of shoeing or saddling them. That just seems like an unnecessary tedious chore. To me those sort of mechanics would be akin to having to press a button to fasten your seatbelt or adjust your mirrors every time you got into a vehicle. It just seems monotonous. I think you should just walk up to a horse & be able to ride it. They could have them in stables maybe already saddled, which I know may not be the most realistic but it's a video game, we're out there killing hundreds of crazed cultists, driving machine gun equipped semis and blasting bears with RPGs, I don't think anyone would turn their nose up when find a horse already wearing a saddle...

That's a perfectly fair point. Upon reflection, I'd say saddling and shoeing horses would be better suited to a full on western game. Like a mini-game in Red Dead 2 for in game cash, like the odd jobs in the Fable series. I'd be very happy just to have the horses at all. I'd love to lasso a cultist from my horse, hog-tie them and drag them away to interrogate them!

i always thaught you should have been able to break wild horses and sell them to the livery in armadillo and other towns in red dead redemption it would have made it worth doing more often if they do have horses in far cry 5 we should be able to shoot primary weapons while riding them

If there is a significant DLC for the game similar to a blood dragon-esque expansion, I'd like it if they did a western game with the FC set up. Having a lasso would be a cool & suitable weapon for that. When rumors about FC5 first started bubbling last year initially the word was that it was going to be set in the wild west and while I was initially bummed by that (I think modern set games are the best ones) I started to come around after thinking about how well the western setting would be suited to FC gameplay & structure...

Oh yeah about the western scenario: we've all been fooled by that rumour.

Right? The initial rumors stemmed from the commercials they shot out here, and even before people started figuring out that it was related to Far Cry, people were thinking it was rockstar shooting a commercial for RDR2, cause all they knew was that it was a live action commercial related to a videogame.., then people dug around, found out the guy directing worked on a FC Primal live action trailer, so the rumor switched to being a FC western game, and I don't think it was until the commercials actually came out that it became clear the game was actually a modern setting, then that promo art obviously confirmed that... Man, that all seems so long ago but it was less than a year ago...
