One of the most annoying times is when me and two of my friends have finished playing and want to do some duels before signing off.
The best we can do at this time is brawls, with one person taking turns dueling the other two.
Why not make a game mode where all players are in a pool, and two are dueling. Whoever wins stays on and the next player rotates in.
Best of 1 or 2, but ideally configurable up to 3.
Perfectly fine if this is custom match only.

This would be ideally fixed if they incorporate a FFA mode, the least required number of players being 3. And the players all show up in the neutral (duel) color. This mode should be selectable in both multiplayer and Custom Match.
In Custom Match, there should also be an option where upon execution, the player performing an execution gets his whole HP refilled. Perfect for taking duel turns while also spectacting on the duels themselves.
