Just throwing this out there, I was having the same issue for quite some time, I found a thread in which cazzar09 suggested uninstalling the Corsair Utility Engine if you are using it. I tested it and I have not had any issues with my game since (other than those dang ping spikes).
this not work for me, the only think is disabling stm in bios :/

Disabling SMT not worked for me, I did that a time ago (I'm with Ryzen since it's launch), I'll give it another try, who knows.

    I'm having the same issue

I submitted my info to Ubisoft support to no avail, so far.

I've reinstalled Windows, even - the issue persists.

    Same here, my PC is well above spec;

Intel Processor (forgot the exact type by head it's either I7 or I9)
    Asus Rampage IV
    32Gb RAM
    Geforce GTX1080
    Windows 10-64bit
    Samsung SSD

And a lot of the times when the round just starts it instantly freezes for a bit and then crashes the game.
I had this issue before (during white noise), and Ubi suggested to uninstall anything ASUS related (AI Suite etc.) which solved the problem at the time for about 80% of the crashes.
Then I found out myself that only NVIDIA drive 385.xx worked and none of the newer drivers. Since then I had been running fine without crashes.

Now, outbreak launched, and the issue is appearing again, exactly the same...
I reinstalled the game, verified files, updated to latest driver version (not with geforce experience since that apparently can cause issues - which is stupid because you'd think ubi and nvidia would test and communicate together) etc.etc. Even turned off discord overlay, uplay overlay.. None of this works.
I'll try the corsair utility tonight, but I can't imagine this causes issues, I certainly hope not because of thats not running then I can't disable my capslock button (since capslock brings me to desktop for some reason)...

Anyway, just curious if people have my issue above. I keep sending crash reports, but I doubt anyone even looks at those.

    Try going into the GameSettings.ini (Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\...\GameSettings.ini) file and set EnableAMDMultiDraw=1 to EnableAMDMultiDraw=0, and also MaxGPUBufferedFrame=1 to MaxGPUBufferedFrame=2

    See if it helps.
