[FEEDBACK] Sub-Machine Guns and Shotguns need a buff

Sub-Machine Guns and Shotguns are mostly useless in the sand box of ghost recon wildlands

the effective range of Smg's is about 60 meters and shot guns are about 20 meters making them less viable compared to other categories

Smg's have more side to side recoil than light-machine guns and even if you only use attachments that reduce horizontal recoil they still have more than Lmg's

Why does a weapon shooting handgun rounds have more recoil than a gun shooting rifle rounds

As for shotguns they deal low damage, have very short range, long reloads and enemy's with body armour make them worthless

as it stands there is no reason for any one to chose these weapons over the other catagories

I know support for the campaign is coming to an end but if you could buff these weapons before that it would add new ways to play and add something fresh before it was all said and done

that is all I have to add if any one has any suggestions for or against this feel free to comment and thanks for reading

Sad but true. Shotguns are completely useless. Even in closest Range they're outmatched by ARs.
SMG have that ridiculous horizontal Recoil as you said, but at least I can use them for RP/Immersion Reasons on lower Difficulties.

For Standard Play there is no Reason to not use the Standard SR/AR Combo.

If you set up an Lmg they can be super effective but only when you wan't to go loud which usually is a bad idea on higher difficulty's

sadly the assault rifle and sniper rifle are the only real viable weapons

shame since there are so many weapons in the game

except for shotguns theirs only 3 and there all worthless

I still need to see a reason not to go silienced AR + large mag + grenade launcher. All other weapons are there just for personal reasons, but you can't even justify SRs, since you have no reason to fight enemies at 300+m outside of tier 1.

Weapons are balanced as you can play effiencient with all of them (except shotguns) without suffering any real drawbacks in missions. You can finish the game using whatever you like. Still the weapon attachments and weapon balancing make the ARs by far more useful than anything else.

    Yet I had enough success on Tier 1 with MK48 + MP7 so I can't complain.

the sub machine guns would become far more viable if their horizontal recoil was drastically toned down

since they have better noise reduction they could actually somewhat compete with the assault rifles

as of right now there just mini assault rifles that have more horizontal recoil, do less damage, have less range and are a little quieter with suppressors

Way to many weapons to chose from and many of them worthless (for obvious reasons or reasons already given here so no need to rehash). I am all about options but when the weapon ergos or mechanics or what ever they are supposed to do irl don't do in this game, they should have sticked to make a handful do what they were supposed to... another reason why I go on a rant as saying they developed a big and beautiful world but forgot that the game was a shooter.

I don't even care about the animations or that some of them can't hold 30 rounds and irl they do,etc, etc, but there is something to be said for the use of shotguns & SMG (I personally loved the MP5, one of my favorite weapons) but here in this game, I rather fend off the enemy with my pistol than with the MP5 and you don't want to go loud when Unidad starts to spawn carrying a shotgun... that's a bad recipe right there.

Too bad this won't get fix here and I seriously doubt it will be for the next GRWL since the game sold very well they will think their vision was not as blurry as we all know it was. Well, not all of us of course, to some they did it right and this was a proper GR experience.

Its funny how when a coked up cartel member fires a certain model of SMG full auto, full blast with one hand he has an effective and lethal range of almost 150 meters.

But when a highly trained special operative takes the same weapon, folds out it's stock, aims it properly and fires in short controlled bursts he can't achieve even half of that range.

I am unable to articulate how much this gets on my pecs.

Incidentally I have found the hipfire on the SMGs is vastly superior to the other guns. That's why I use one in CQC/CQB, in 3rd person. Even aimed 3rd person is better with the SMGs than the assault rifles.
