Far Cry 4 PC Xbox One Controller Wrong Mapping

I am playing on Far Cry 4 on the PC and I am using an Xbox One controller. When I use the controller, the buttons are wrongly mapped and most of the buttons and joysticks do not work. I read the read me for the game and it says that the Xbox One controller is compatible. Can anyone help me?

I'm so sorry. I forgot to mention that I am playing on PC
