OK, I have struggled with this from the start of the game. Deploying the Parachute. I have the key binding at the default (Space Key) but every time I jump out of a helo, mountaintop, you name it where you would need it, 98% of the time I never deploys. I have Clicked, double click, fast clicks in secession, or just holding down the key. When I dose open, I can never remember what the heck it was that opened the damn thing. Any help out there??

Err, try assign other key maybe? Fly high and jump out to test it.

Doing a base jump requires button mash to open it as soon as the character is ready. There's a time gap between the leap and the parachute opening. This is why I see people make a faceplant sometimes due to the height.

for jumping out of aircraft, you have to pres and HOLD [E] to exit the vehicle in freefall mode, then you pop [space] when you are ready to deploy your chute (preferably around 150m... unless you are a freefall god)
for jumping off elevated surfaces, its [space] [shift] [w] to walk off the edge end enter freefall mode, release the keys and press [space] at the appointed time to release your chute

the game dealt with this very poorly in the key suggestions!(and yes, in the beta it worked way better and the weeks following game release, there was much anger)

I just started playing with the helo and jumping out of it until I got the chute to work. Now come bass jumping..lol
