any tips on how to block fast attacks?

I just got the game today. I'm having lots of trouble guarding against fast light attacks when the enemy keep changing attack directions (the dual-wielding guy with the Asian hat). Any tips? I usually like playing hard-hitting enemies like the fat samurai or the lawbinger knight, but I think they are a bit slow.
    Thanks.

    Have a look here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1037667970

Every attack in the game is listed there with damage and speed. The fastest attacks (or melee unblockables) are 400ms. Most heroes have a 500ms light attack in their kit. If you got the game today you just need to learn the attack patterns of the different characters. E.g. that Asian-hat-guy (Aramusha) will always attack like this if he wants to spam fast attacks: side - top - side - top - and so on. When you know this you can predict the next attack (if he does not feint a heavy, but that is advanced tactics) and block or even parry it.

I would recommend for any new player to start with a character that has a constant guard (so no Assassins) at least until Rep 1. Assassins have a harder time to block / parry other fast attacking characters.

Btw Lawbringer is not that slow, he only looks like this. He has a 500ms top light attack and his shove - light is pretty fast as well.

    training.
train first vs a level 1 bot who is slow.
then pick the level 3 bot who use a lot of fast attacks.

bots fights are non stop. so after 2-3 hours you get WAY better.

then goto youtube and check the guides. Max damage combos etc etc.
    which attacks have Risks..

That Dual Wielding Guy is Aramusha. Not even new players like you having diffculties to block his light but experienced player also find it difficult. My tips:

1.Dont let his first light connect. it means you have to be good in defense if you are fighting him. Aramusha is very dangerous after his first attack connect. You can easily counter him using heroes that have full block traits: Warlord, Valkyrie, Conqueror, and Aramusha himself.

2.If his first light connect then remember that he will sure switch direction for combo. If he is a stupid noob who only know spamming light attack then remember this: after side light, he will attack on top and vice versa, if he start with top next will be on the side. This is the rule of Aramusha light attack

3.Train with Level 2 BOT at minimum and then level 3 if you already master level 2. On level 3 BOT will use the soft feint often. Just train until you get used to the soft feint. Me personally, I always do warm up practice with BOT each time I start to play.

check out the warden who posted his YouTube video now in forum.

note how he almost never stays so close that a pure block is needed.

you need to know how to block and Even more Parry.

but the true mastery is to play as that warden does. quite inspiring. so do both. practice your mechanics. but also the bigger dance 😀
