dont let me stop you from admiring it, i am merely pointing out the obvious lol. if the prices are not ridiculously high, you may want to consider buying Future Soldier, it is also tpv but you may enjoy the campaign and then you still will enjoy GRAW I & II since they are fpv and you could at leat command your squad. I dont recommend the original GRs since graphics are too dated but those were the ones who got me hook
Hello again, let me start with apologising for not replying... in 2017. For leaving you hanging GiveMeTactical. And for not wishing you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, so while this is sadly overdue, it's quite sincere, "Merry Christmas and Happy 2018."
My dad died in 2012 (aged 70). I was expecting to have him in my life for another 10 years "minimum." The past 5 years have been rough on my mum and me. The Head of our family isn't sitting at the table anymore and it's soul crushing. So I tend to withdraw round the festive season and re-emerge after it, like now.
GiveMeTactical, thanks for the Future Soldier suggestion. I will check it out.
I began my 4th run through the game recently. 3 previous saves are level 30, only 1 is Tier 1. After grinding through Tier 1 however, playing the game normally (without the severe penalties) was much easier. In fact I was able to reach level 17 before I was killed. Might not sound too special for legit ghosts nevertheless I could've gone further because I saw the mistake I was making and continued anyway (impatience) that won't happen again.
Regarding helicopters and their guns. Looks like my feeble protest about them was out of line! Whenever I tackle this mission I take approx. 30-60mins because I like to remain undetected. On the other hand it took me "5 mins" to wipe out everyone just using the heli including all the reinforcements that were sent. Got all the snipers. The mortar operator. Everyone, dead in 5! The indicator shows I'm still engaged but those last two didn't last long. Those heli's are devastating.
I've been practicing to manoeuvre between difficult obstacles.
I beat the El Pulpo mission first try!
I've read plenty of good tips from other players. I agree, the best way to succeed is to stay behind Pulpo, between him and the enemies attacking at the rear and do not allow them to overtake you. Ram the enemies (attacking from in front) off the road or into obstacles but make sure you are right behind Pulpo as a "shield" protecting him. Lol if he crashes and gets out though. I once saw him exit 3 trashed vehicles (over a period of about 15 mins) and then get run over and killed crossing the road by a motorbike hehe.
If you time this... just right...
...you can land it on Midas's head. This one missed though.
This is important (if you don't already know it) I didn't know and was stunned when I found out by accident. In the mission FLIGHT PLAN. When you interrogate the flight controller and steal the plane from Koani and fly it to Media Luna. You don't need to "land that plane" that's in the hangar.
I stole the plane, didn't even take off, drove it straight into a fence (and the wing got stuck) and then it blew up, hoards of reinforcements show up, attack, but the option to land in Media Luna was still available. I took a heavy duty heli, flew "it" over and landed and the option to interrogate the buyer was offered.
In the past I always thought it was "that specific plane" that needed to be stolen... apparently not so. It's SO much easier with the heli.
I also found an animation glitch where sometimes the player won't stay crouched (even when you are) as you move he gets up and walks and then crouches down again. Only way of snapping him out of it is to interact with something e.g. a vehicle. I kinda thought it happened when I switched weapons?
I swear, you could play this game with just the drone alone... and it'd be a lot of fun! Hmmm... Now if the drone had a .50 cal sniper rifle "and" a suppressed submachine gun e.g. the SR-635 hehe. Well Nomad could retire from active duty.

Saw a weird glitch... it's the mission where you have to take out the gasoline convoy. Well I flew up ahead of the convoy and landed, got an advantage point to take out the driver but the convoy never came, only the yellow arrow "came and went." I shot at it and the rounds were ricocheting off an invisible object. But it just drove off. In spite of this I saw the convoy (truck plus hummers) about 200 metres behind minus the yellow arrow of course. Still completed the mission successfully.

This is the helicopter graveyard. There comes a time in a soldier's life where shooting down too many heli's has dire consequences. E.g. blocking you in! I couldn't flipping get back out again!
It took me 30 mins of unremitting attempts to find a way out and oh boy was it complex.

Both doorways blocked. I was able to crawl under the tail piece to get out. Couldn't go around the other building but managed to climb onto the first buildings roof via stacked boxes and the stairs.
So close yet so far away. After nearly logging out I said there has gotta' be a way and there was. It took multiple attempts but I was able to get onto the roof of the gun turret (bottom left corner) via two stacked boxes.
I decided to go with the Scorpion EVO this run. It performs good but I prefer the SR-635. You know, individual taste.
Mason: Are they on the level?
Santa Blanca Cartel member: One appears to hang slightly lower than the other.
Action shot. They got away...
Incredible range of surreal atmospheres in this game. Sometimes I think I'm on the moon or mars!
The only thing your lawyer can do now is make sure your will's in order... Holt!
Unbelievable. I tried running Madre Coca over and the armoured SUV got stuck! I did get out of it though... "just" yet again.
Oh and the Predator. My tip for killing him... the grenade launcher! And... stay behind a tree and circle the tree!!! Forget about rocks and especially open spaces. A tree. One with a thick trunk... or bamboo! Predator can't shoot between the bamboo.
And lastly I finally figured out what "the" most important thing is in this game... COVER!!! A rock, a tree, a car, anything, but you better be behind cover when the bullets come looking for you.
Well... it's official. I've had a revelation. I'm converted! Ghost Recon Wildlands is the best game I've ever played, and it's now 'my favourite' game of all time. Far Cry 5 is great (Far Cry 4 was my previous favourite) but nothing compares to this game in relation to addictiveness! It's like heroin.
Pet grievances aside (not being able to disable the backpack, the vest changing according to gun type, and the team getting me killed in dumb situations) and yeah I complain about the team 'stuffing up' for the simple fact that we oughta' have an option to 'disable' the team (occasionally) when you wanna' go completely solo for a while, that said though they do get me outta' trouble, regularly! Hehe.
So anyway here's My reasons why this game is the greatest for me now:
- The "atmosphere" is second to none. The various types of weathers, terrains, music. It's deeply immersive especially at night (e.g. the enemy eating and sleeping WOW!)
- Edit appearance (so many options.)
- Best developers (most generous) I've never played a previous game where the dev's have given so much to the community. Outstanding effort on their part.
- Highly addictive gameplay. I forego sleep! Just played 10 hours straight.
- SO MANY guns (and attachments) to choose from.
- Tier 1 (tricky, challenging, exceptionally rewarding.)
- Killer A.I. (I'm beginning to appreciate the "dangerousness" of Tier 1.)
- "Free roam" especially on Tier 1, can't be beat! It's MAD FUN.
- The drone! Like I said before, you could play this whole game with the drone alone and it'd still be out of this world.
- Flying planes/helicopters, piloting boats, driving cars, riding bikes. Essential and admirably accomplished.
One new complaint though... how come when I detonate a drone the enemy immediately knows where I am and runs straight toward me? Or is that a Tier 1 thing?
It'd be handy if Ubisoft sold something similar to Steam cards in EBGames shops.
I'm currently on Tier 7 (2nd character, once might be a fluke, twice though, not!) Not rushing to get to Tier 1 this time, just enjoying the mayhem of which there is a plethora.
Still haven't beat the Sam Fisher mission on Tier 1. Doesn't look like it'll be happening any time soon neither.
Thanks Ubisoft, money well spent!
And lastly... ual002 (sorry it took 3 months to say, thanks.)

Hello again ual002. Thanks for showing interest.
Potential for... switch to full First Person View like as in Skyrim, Fallout? Sign me up! I can already hear their boos, hehe.
Forgot to mention one of the main reasons I love this game so much is the "storyline" which is excellent. War on drugs is BS though.
Hi, sorry if this thread ain't as interesting or as important as gameplay issues, or more trending topics but I would still like to add a few "final"comments.
I'm very comfortable playing Extreme difficulty now. I've achieved Tier 1, twice and it feels great. I swear I could hear "Can't Do Nuttin' For Ya' Man by Public Enemy" as the Tier 1 graphic popped up on my screen... but that just might've all been in my head, hehe.
This time... Tier 2 down to Tier 1 was HORRENDOUS! MUCH WORSE than the last time!! The most vicious, violent Unidad+Santa Blanca attacks (in combination) imaginable!!! I know it's a lot of exclamation marks but the dev's have upped the aggression.
Noticed (improvements?) in the rescue Gabriella mission. Predictably there'd be one, possibly two Unidad vehicles (armoured SUV and a buggy) patrol driving close to the chapel she's praying in. This last time though (Tier 2) there were Unidad interrogating civilians outside the chapel and after dealing with them and not seeing any other Unidad vehicles on the road I figured grab Gabriella now. Hail of bullets! I'm dead... There was Santa Blanca behind the chapel (on the hill) too. That's an increase in "random A.I." for that mission isn't it? I'm seeing changed A.I. behaviour.
Que dreamlike music... "When I first started Tier 1..." (lol I can't believe I'm saying that like it's memory lane) I played the easy, most XP missions. But I reckon once you "recognize the value of Tier 1" you become completely addicted to it, determined to defeat the penalty percentage. I love Tier 1 so much now that I'm playing the harder missions which I never would have played before.
Still, I can visualize what a nightmare the "Ortega's Arena" mission in the Fallen Ghosts DLC is like on Tier 1. I had trouble on "normal." After it I said I'd never play it again, but now it's time to try.
L85A2
So I was watching jackfrags youtube channel, he was playing something? Battlefield 4? PUBG? And he was using a L85A2, and owning his opponents with it so I really wanted to experience the hype.
When I read the history of the L85A2 (SA80) I nearly fainted. In GRW it is the "most accurate" assault rifle, yes? But man do gun enthusiasts (on youtube) hate this rifle! The history is pretty dismal too. Lots of problems.
I'm quoting Wikileaks: "When the L85A1 and L86A1 were first sent into major combat during the Gulf War, individual performance was appalling."
Nevertheless, I levelled it up to level 30 and I like it. Gets me out of trouble all the time. I'd love to see Eric (IraqVeteran8888) and Chad do a commentary about it... hint hint.
However I've already found a new favourite that I'm levelling up right now, the MK14 Occult. The 'rate of fire' with sniper rounds... Beast!
LA CABRA
Yeah I wanted to get a melee takedown on La Cabra. Killed everyone around her and the negotiator. Snuck up on them like a sneaky squirrel (hey according to the BBC the Californian ground squirrel is the sneakiest animal alive) but instead of grabbing her (I wanted to grab her and shoot him with the pistol.) I accidentally grabbed him and inadvertently she killed me. I was careful too.
That right eye of hers looks artificial... Sophia like...
FELL OFF MAP
Landed a heli very roughly hitting the ground HARD and as I got out I fell straight through the ground. From the looks of it this is the zero point of creation expanding outwards (if you believe the big bang theory) hehe.
MAP QUESTION MARK
I hate to nit-pick but this is the last location I have to discover on the map. Only trouble is I can't find it! I've tried running around from underneath it in a spiral outwards, even flying around it but I can't detect it.
Am I missing something? Is this place "unfindable?" Or am I just not searching in the correct area?
LIGHTNING
Yo lightning never hits the player right? Won't hit any aircraft we're flying? In this situation I'd think I'd be in danger of getting hit. It'd be pretty funny getting struck by lightning mid fire fight. Or if it happened to an enemy.
SQUAD ACCURACY
I don't know about you, but for me it seems like the squad are more accurate hitting their targets "when you're flying around crazy-like and they're shooting on changing angles." On the other hand... when the heli is stationary (standing still) and they're just shooting straight, they miss!
BTW I tried that combat outpost again (that Unidad can't get into, where all the heli wreckages are in my screenshots.) That's definitely been changed. Didn't last 5 mins.

Hey @D42k5H4d0W5
You can link the whole image in your post if you use the links editor on that site and select the direct link option. Then just copy paste into the IMG brackets that the post editor on this site provides.
Might be an idea to upload them smaller in the first place, depending on how you're posting as the preview doesn't scale the image).I like your photos, but it's a bit of a pain to keep clicking the thumbnails to get to them.
