Now that they've brought a proper modern day protagonist back they better get their **** together and finish this arc in 3 or 4 games because I'm certain people are tired of waiting for this story to go somewhere, in that regard Origins IMO didn't start well because from what I saw on youtube the MD story barely advances and little to nothing happens during the MD. This being the game that introduces Layla is no excuse to not address the problems that have been plaguing the MD story since its inception (they have 10 years of feedback for christ' sake), read emails in 3rd person is no better than doing so in 1st person.
You know if I had to come up with story's after Juno they would be:

-Post apocalyptic world and everyone knows about the Templars and Assassin's which could lead to more chaos and the theme of Illusion breaking in AC1.
-Digital people: Kinda like with Clay in Botherhood and you walk around there and maybe your physical appearence is of your ancestor, people that are trapped in the world of the digital because of Juno maybe a matrix style story with freeing people.
-Time Travel: it's more of a last resource if the writing becomes EXTREME horrible and canon mistakes everywhere but maybe a Mortal Kombat style reboot... Or whatever Ubisoft is planning.

    or something else.

There is this one little issue I have with this theory well two but it's basicly one issue.

So if reality is not supposed to be changed... Why give people Eagle Vision? The Bleeding Effect is in theory an unanchored consciousness travelling through the wormhole of spacetime does sound cool... But it feels a bit like an retcon because we know the bleeding effect as the ancesrors memory's ''bleeding'' into your reality so eh not liking this idea but still worth thinking about.

If they dropped MD and the Animus altogether, they would alienate a lot of fans, including yours truly. We do agree in that the MD story definitely needs more focus in the next game. They've sown some seeds, in the same way AC1 did when it only had Desmond wandering about the office reading cryptic e-mails. It's a start, but it needs to lead somewhere.

I dunno, the MD gameplay in AC1 got away with being boring as sin because the lore was so fresh and new, and we actually had faith that each little clue was leading to some mind-blowing revelations somewhere down the line. After ten years of non-answers and disappointments, I don't think they can ever get away with that again. I mean, take me for example; I pored over every single email, explored every nook and cranny of the Abstergo office, the Hideout, and the Vault in the Desmond games. In Origins, I didn't even bother to leave the Animus except when forced to.

That's fair, I totally understand that some fans have been so burned by the MD going nowhere that they're not willing to give it another shot. TBH I'm not terribly optimistic either, but hope springs eternal.

I actually am willing to give it another chance, but the thing is, I have to be able to see that they've learned from the mistakes of the past. So far, I see no evidence that they're taking the failure of the Desmond saga into account, because they're doing the exact same thing they did in AC1; a tiny little trail of cryptic clues and hidden messages without anything concrete holding them together. Only this time, they're going in a completely new direction despite having ten years' worth of unresolved subplots tied around their ankles, so to speak; it doesn't exactly inspire confidence that they're actually going somewhere with this.

If the story continues like that, I'm never going to really dig my teeth into a juicy lore discussion thread like this again, because inevitably, Sorrosyss' analysis will be better than whatever the writers come up with. The fans are looking for an endgame, whereas the devs/producers are looking to make this series last indefinitely.

My thoughts exactly, this butterfly effect scenario they're building is the perfect excuse to keep dragging out the story.

Question about segment 5. About the soundwave... I am terribly curious about what the sound is or what it says. I've seen some phone apps that read those waves. I heard about it because the ephemeral trend of tattooing a soundwave of your kid laughing or your partner saying ''i love you'' then scanning it with your phone to listen to it. The thing is, in order for it to work, i think you have to recod it with the app, screenshot the soundwave, print it then get it tattooed. There's also the video version where you frame the soundwave and when you scan it, it will reproduce the video that created that soundwave. As i know the experience of these apps, you might ask: "why haven't you tryed yourself?" my answer would be: "i own a 3310. The old one. And no i'm not 85 years old, i'm 28. Don't ask why.''
So, with all this, my question is: could anybody try to scan that with that app? If someone's already done it, what does it say or sound like?

(i know... Get a new phone already!!!)
