So how the hell am I supposed to build D3 for pvp now?
I have a full set, optimized to max, 9000K stamina and a whopping 45% damage resistance (mods).
Yet as we tested this on Skirmish, Last Stand etc.. Shield cannot mitigate any damage - it's like the damage resistance mods aren't even there and the health gets reduced from my 2 milllion to 500 000... What the actual ****ing **** is this?
The hilarious thing is that your shields toughness is actually closer to 4 million!
With 1.8 massive/red storm decided to remove shields from pvp by secretly implementing a modifer so that other players deal 460% damage against shields (incidentally they also upped the pvp modifier so players are doing more damage anyway).
You're better of using your back to take damage as you will be alot more tanky than your shield.
I know right. I tried it in pvp and my sheild got insta melted. Im 9k stamina. I really dont know how to build this set. I use it in PVE but how much damage does it take to proc its buff. Is it worth investing that much into stamina. What mods should I use. Do sheild mods work with this gear set. Please can anyone help. I know this is a probably a low tier gear set but it still fun to use. Please also buff sheild for use in pvp. It was never that good to begin with but now its trash unless you melee agents in dz.
I have no idea why everyone is saving the d3 sucks...I love it!
And I love it even more in pvp than in pve.
First thing you need to understand is that in skirmish and last stand there is normalisation. It means your classy gear' s stats bonuses are lowered. So maybe your stamina fell under 9k and you didnt notice. You need everything rolled on stamina and 4 stamina mods to get to 9k.
You also need to get as close to 120k skill power as you can. That s the hard cap for shield health. That s why you put skill power on your backpack and knees.
My build is:
Chest: health, skill haste.
Backpack: skill power.
Mask: crit chance.
Gloves: smg dmg, crit chance, skill haste.
Knees: skill power.
Holster: skill haste.
4x shield dmg resilience.
4 stamina mods with skill haste.
1 firearms mod with skill haste.
In pvp you are not going to kill a lot but you'll be almost unkillable and will help your team with dmg (not great but not terrible) healing (skill haste is at 40%) and with the best buff in the game.
The buff: it is incredible. It always proc in pvp and gives an ADDITIVE bonus of 30% armor to the whole team! If you watch Marco's video you'll know that in this case the bonus being additive is a good thing.
Tl dr: I love the set and I have no idea why everyone is saying it is not good.
Dude! You just saved my day. I totally forgot the normalisation., thanks! Gonna do some adjustmentsOriginally Posted by pagliu Go to original post
Actually... Does normalisation even allow 9000 attribute points, the way I see it is that 6 x 1272 = 7632 points + 5 mods each 267 points equals 1335 points, added together it's just 8967 points?Originally Posted by pagliu Go to original post
So none of the classified 6-piece talents actually work? (Predator, striker, D3)?
You're having a laugh right?Originally Posted by pagliu Go to original post
That's now a skill and a gearset that you have to own 6 pieces of classified and build in a very specific way to get any sort of sustainability from the shield in pvp.
You now shoot marshmallows as at most you can use 1 firearms mod.
Your skill power is so low and and your skill mods are already chosen for you so a heal does nothing for you so its either a support station for the master mod or the dreaded shock turret (and you won't even be able to burst down a shocked player!)
Defib is an ok option but 90% of the time your team mates are finished before you aim it.
So your job is to walk around and try and get shot while hoping the buff activates at a good time for your team while the opposition 4-3 your team, as you aren't really a threat, before focusing you down.
If you enjoy that playstyle then more power to you but they have seriously hurt every other shield build in pvp with such a crazy modifier.
I'd accept a 2.0 (200%) which is an extra 80% damage on 1.7 but if it remains as is then I guess it's finally time to jump aboard the meta train.
There's a base 535 in each before gearOriginally Posted by Rapidhex3 Go to original post
