I was definitely relieved to see that from that Roster menu you're able to "dismiss" GFH. I was worried when they were saying you don't have to use them that it just meant you can command them to a spot and continue without giving them orders, but you can actually stop them from following you. Seeing as it actually does have a bit more depth than I was expecting, I'll probably use it more than I was planning on before, but I still think I'll play a lot going solo...

It definitely has a replayability factor to it, with who you want to recruit and how you like to play the game. I personally see myself leaning towards bows and silent weapons, going for more of stealth run.

That's basically what our character will be since (they're) on undercover assignment from their Leo HQ. Still to make allys in the game is still part of it. Save someone from the Seed's and they're your ally! Whom even a lone wolf can group up with from time to time, as we did in FC2 with our peeps whom we worked with.

It doesn't seem we're "undercover" in FC5, that would imply we infiltrate the cult and work from the inside and that it was the plan all along. It sounds like the game starts with the protag and the other deputy & agent being ambushed and captured but the protag is able to escape. The cult knows we are a threat to them, more so the more we raise the resistance meter. We're trapped in the area and so work to build the resistance and take the fight to them, but it is good to see we don't have to have GFH with us at all times for sure... Though now with the random NPCs we can recruit, I'll probably use it more than I had anticipated before...

But they stay in the area and, except for one mission, they're never in your way.

Being "undercover" was what the premise of the original posts on this forum talked about.

Huh, I guess I missed those threads. Seems that speculation has since been disproven though...
