The only way for me to run ACO as smooth as it gets since patch 1.05 is to run it with ingame vsync AND fps limiter at 60 fps enabled.
BUT:
1.) The FPS sometimes jump way over the vsync/fps limit, like, up to 120 fps, then 60 fps for a while, then 80 fps and so on. This happens especially after fast travelling somewhere. How can that happen with vsync enabled? This is the first and only game in which i ever saw this kind of behaviour and i always play with vsync because i can't stand tearing.
2.) If i switch the game to windowed or borderless mode it gets locked at 30 fps, no matter what i have set the fps limiter to. I have to open and close the start menu and/or minimize ACO a few times to get it to run at 60 fps in windowed and borderless mode. Launching the game right away in windowed or borderless mode makes it run at 60 fps as it should (with above mentioned spikes to 120 or such).
3.) I can't force vsync through the nvidia control panel. I wanted to set fast vsync, because that made Ghost Recon: Wildlands (which uses the same engine...) run smooth as hot butter.
4.) Disabling both, vsync and the fps limiter, turns the game into a jittery mess with tons of tearing.
Maybe this vsync weirdness is related to the jerkyness that a lot of people experience since patch 1.05?
Any input? I would especially love to be able to force fast vsync via the nvidia control panel, just to see if that makes the game run smoother.
