I have just purchased a new Xbox One controller, dubbed the "Patrol Tech" edition of controller with built in bluetooth and rubberized hand grips. I have tried both bluetooth and cable and this game will NOT recognize this controller no matter what I do. I have tried looking for a solution online and within these forums and it seems to not exist as a problem for other users. I bought the game straight through Uplay and have tried running steam big picture mode with a recommended controller configuration and it still doesn't work, even if I replug my controller in or swap to a different usb port. I have even tried to set it up as a legacy gamepad through the legacygamepads_user.ini file and FINALLY was able to make it work after countless game restarts and controller unplugging and reconnecting, but then get severe lag in the main menu up until I join a game, which runs smooth all ONLY in the cable mode, bluetooth is completely unusable and after I am done playing it is the same process of restarting the game multiple times and reconnecting my controller frequently in order to see if it at least works. Both modes (cable and bluetooth) work on other ubisoft games such as rainbow six siege and south park: TFBW and a few steam games I tested, so I know it has to be something with this game. Dxdiag reads it as an input, I have tried rolling back drivers on my controller, and even tried updating it further with the xbox accessories app to no avail. I have disabled vibrations, modified graphical settings, changed resolution, disabled and re-enabled vsync and other countless methods that I am just tired of trying and am just going to wait patiently for helpful replies to get me back into for honor.
TL;DR Cable works once every 50 game restarts and constant unplugging and reconnecting to see if it works after I had added it as a LEGACY GAMEPAD in the ini file and am greeted with a laggy menu when it finally does work and bluetooth is essentially a potato.
