For Honor season 4 lagging, crashing, problems, etc

Hi, I am new to the community and this is my first post so here I go

I started playing For Honor on my laptop pretty much as soon it was released, and I've loved it ever since. It's never given me problems and I've had a blast up until recently.
I've been playing happily ever since a couple weeks ago when the season 4 update came out. (and damn was I was so excited for it)

But after the update, I unfortunately ran into many, many, issues. When i first launched the game it seemed fine, up until the main screen after the "press any key" screen

The animations and sound effects were lagging very bad, like i would point my mouse over "options," or "settings" or whatever, clicked, it would wouldn't do anything. I tried hitting ctrl+alt+del to maybe end the task and relaunch it, but it would be fine after i did, so it was like me hitting "ctrl+alt+del" was like in a sense "refreshing" the game and make it work normally. But would start lagging again after like 10 seconds.

I started lagging so much to the point where i could not even customize my own heroes properly without hitting ctrl+alt+del multiple times throughout the game for it to go back to normal, which led me to getting kicked every time I tried playing multiplayer, and so I ended up just closing the game anyway so i could try and relaunch the game. Same problem.

It took about a week or 2 after season 4 update/patch initially came out (a couple weeks ago) until the problem eventually went away on its own.

I randomly decided to give it another shot one day and try to relaunch the game, and to my surprise everything was running very well. I assumed that either a miracle happened and my computer just somehow adjusted all of a sudden or that Ubisoft may have fixed this problem overnight because I didn't have to download another patch or update or anything to fix the issue before.

Anyways, days go buy and I'm able to play extremely happy, no problems, and it seems like all is good. I started playing the new Aramusha and was absolutely loving it. It would perform excellent if I had no other applications running like YouTube for music, or recording my game-play via Geforce experience shadowplay.

however if i tried to run any of those apps, like if i wanted to use youtube to play music and use shadowplay to record, my game would sometimes start slowing down and lagging again, sometimes kicking me from matches due to "low fps rate...bla...bla..bla"

Before i recently updated my driver through nvidia geforce ecperience ( literally yesterday 12/6/2017) the game was running extremely well, minus those drawbacks mentioned^^^. But I started experiencing the same issues again sometime around Tuesday night (12/5/17), and persisted all throughout yesterday and today.

I've tried customizing my game settings as much as i can to the best of my ability, fps, resolution, and my geforce settings like recording resolution/fps, (i don't know a whole lot about each of them, i kinda just play around).

Is anyone having the same issues? and if so, do you know how to fix this? I have tried to uninstall a couple of games like Overwatch, and programs like OBS studios to free up space, but still no help. I have about half of my entire storage left on my laptop. (523/930 GB)

Should i do anything to just overall clean my computer? like Disk Defrags, or look for spyware? If there is spyware or viruses on my computer, is there a setting in windows 10 that allows me to kind of search and destroy them? I also have McAfee anti virus plus for protection on my computer, should i use that at all?

Like I said, kind of a newb to the whole gaming community thing, I've seen some people post logs of the their computer system to help, so if that helps just reply and I'll post a picture.

I have an Asus ROG laptop, intel core i7 processor, and an nvidia geforceGTX 97m graphics card

If anyone can please help, please reply back!
    Thanks
