New mob spawn system is garbage

I was really excited about exploring the 2 new zones so I log in and make my way there. I noticed there was a new spawn system in the patch notes but I didn't think it would be that bad. So I get in the new zone and start exploring and I see mobs spawning all over the place. Right behind me. In front of me. To the side of me. I kill them then walk 5 yards away and run back and they spawn again. I go 10 yards down the road and another pack of mobs spawn. I do a mission where I have to destroy this disruptor thing and an infinite amount of mobs spawned the entire time. I must had killed atleast 50 of them until I had to run away because they would not stop spawning.

This new mob spawn system is complete garbage. It makes it nearly impossible to explore a zone because you constantly have to fight huge packs of mobs that respawn constantly right on top of you. It would take me over a month to explore these new zones at this rate because I would have to spend 95 percent of the time killing the same mobs over and over again.

Pretty much mirrors my own experience this morning. The new area to roam in might have kept me around for a bit but its a small area that wouldn't take long to explore if there was a reason to do so ( I ran through most all of it this morning ). Regardless of the game for myself hoard mode has always been about the most unimaginative boring activity in any game so 1.8 is clearly not the update to get me playing again. Good luck to those who do enjoy the new content though

All they had to do was put the DZ mob spawn system and timers in the LZ and add the new area of map plus Landmarks in the LZ and the community especially the P v E side would have been happy, and many would have come back.

Pretty much, but I liked the new spawning system (atleast in the PTS), will check it out tonight. Good to see them trying something different

Slightly OT, but I didn’t encounter any named bosses in the new map area, only played for a bit.
Is there any besides the resistance bosses?

IIRC, named bosses do appear in the WSP alerts that come up.

We brought up the same issue (radius and cool-down time) on the PTS.

Surprise, surprise... They didn't listen, or... Actually, no surprise, they didn't listen.

Massive can never do things in moderation. They constantly swing to extremes no matter what they do.

They really should look at Destiny / Destiny 2.

The areas are much smaller than The Division, but the spawning rate is perfect for groups, and/or solo players. There are enough mobs to fight, but enough down-time to explore, and organize inventory, too... Kind of like in the DZ that was mentioned above; DZ system in the LZ.

Yeah, when I left Camp Hillary and went to "neutralize" the Lieutenants I was almost out of ammo half way up to them. I restocked my ammo at the ammo crate near the Carrier and when i reached the first Lieutenant i was already down to 300 round AR- ammo, again.

Agreed, I played the WSP on the PTS for a bit and it was quite unimaginative and boring as far what you experience in the DZ with NPC's which is far better imo. They should have had the same system for WSP. I mean even roaming the LZ at least it makes sense with say a group of rikers on a street corner hassling a civy. The WSP just has mobs appear out of thin air (constantly) and there isn't any kind of 'realism' to it if that makes sense nor any immersion.

This is what I find bizarre o.0 as to why we don't have landmarks in the live LZ, we do in Survival LZ. I'm no programmer but the mechanics are clearly there.
