Frequent random crashes to desktop when playing campaign (no coop)

Started playing Wildlands (Steam) a couple days ago.
First run went fine as I played for a couple hours with no issue other that not so good framerate (ultra setting @1440p is a bit too much for a 980ti).
Later the same day i changed settings to a less "heavy"* preset and resumed playing campaign.
Experienced frequent CTDs sometimes after just a few minutes of gameplay.

Other resource hungry games run fine so I don't think it's an hardware issue or an overheating problem.
There's no oc on cpu or gpu (as I can't get Evga Precision X to work with this game)

Checking event viewer I noticed that a service named EasyAntiCheat.sys had been stopped (maybe by the antivirus).
Is it related to your game ?
    Any Idea ?

    Thanks

    Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out to us, and welcome to the forums. We would advise these troubleshooting steps to see if they cease these frequent crashes.

Think I've solved this issue by disabling Ansel* as LoneWolf advised in a different thread

Played for more than 2 hours without any problem
