Preliminary Experiment: How to Find the Ubi Fanbois | Forums

Now it is not an exact science but I have been doing research the last little while and I have found a weird anomaly or telling scenario.

If you go to the first post in a person's history on the site you can invariably see who the fanbois who will defend Ubisoft with their lives are by that first post.

Now I haven't done a super large amount of testing but I have done a fair amount (sifted through 50 different posters on this forum at different times in the history of the forum and viewing their posting history) and have come to the conclusion that invariably when someone posts who is not a fanboi they either seek information about the game or offer their wishlist or complaints or some other innocent starting point.

Fanbois on the other hand invariably start the first time on the forum fixing things or giving advice about someone else's problems or defending Ubi to someone else's complaints.

I just thought it was fascinating and should share. Like I said it is not exact, there are some that start out seeming to be a "regular" (for want of a better word) poster and those that are a fanboi; and those that seem fanbois at first but turn out to be "regulars" (again for want of a better word). But very small in number (2 for "regular"/fanboi and 1 for fanboi/"regular")

I really am not trying to start something I am just pointing out my observations of things that are easily viewable by the rest of you who may not have thought of that. It started with a tiff I will get a reprimand for (probably though they started it) and I wondered who the guy was because I had never seen him post much in the GRW forums and I looked at his history and most of it in recent tme is either GW or Assassin's Creed Origins. SO then I thought he's been around awhile what was he like before he became a defender of the crown and I looked at his history and then went to see what his first post was and low and behold he was offering advice. So then I knew a couple other dedicated fanbois and checked them out as well and saw a pattern sort of emerge. SO then I checked people I knew that just wanted things to be better and saw that when they started out they asked for help or offered comments. SO then I just started randomly checking people at random times in the forum going by certain posts I saw them make that either suggested fanboi or "regular".

While I understand that it isn't your intention, I do foresee this discussion potentially inciting unrest within the community. For this reason, and the fact that it does not contribute to the overall conversation on GRW, I have opted to close this thread.
