I have my main character maxed out with all skills and stuff for doing the challenges (that I don't bother with anymore since all you get is dumb masks and boosters)
But I started a new guy and I went to each province in a certain order. Do all the Influence, then the Production, then Smuggling, then Security, except I do the Yuri and Polito province you land in first. Starting with least oppressive (easiest) to most. You have to do La Cruz to get to Libertad though I leave the other non buchon provinces to last. I do all the main missions but none of the side missions and I don't kill the buchon in the provinces. I don't do any side missions, unless you want more cars but the other rebel helpers suck. I make sure not to cross into provinces that I haven't done yet, I just use the guns and accessories that I get as I go.
If you don't do the rebel missions you don't get rebels driving around interfering, the more you do the more rebels you get on the road. If you don't do the supply missions there are always helos and planes for you to use to get around. If you don't kill the buchon there is always the side of the road missions in provinces for you to kill. Then I just pick a province and drive from base to base killing the people there and killing along the way like the game is still active. Or activate a mission if I want to try something different. You just stay away from where the Buchons are or don't kill them. I saved my game in case I accidentally did so I can go back.
Also I only activated certain skills that I wanted for my guy. So I only have frags and flashbangs and only have emp and noisemaker on my drone and only thermal vision on it.
Makes running and gunning in this game still viable to me.
I can confirm you just need to do all the story missionsOriginally Posted by Eddy_Hawk Go to original post
I beat the game with a good chunk of the supply missions and rebel ops incomplete
and when you beat the game 100% you still have to play the final mission again to get the good ending
I did the 100% with my first saved character. The second save doesn't matter.Originally Posted by ManticButton Go to original post
Huh didn't know that neatOriginally Posted by BrownCoatZoe Go to original post
All stats for all your saves are tied together.Originally Posted by ManticButton Go to original post
wow I completely forgot about that especially weird since I played both narco road and fallen ghostsOriginally Posted by BrownCoatZoe Go to original post
well that's good to know if I ever make a second character thanks
I enjoy the game world mostly for it's "make your own mayhem" quality. The main story is really pretty much secondary, or even tertiary for me. I always try to play through in different order (locations/missions), and be mindful of "real world aspects" such as denying resources to the Cartel/UNIDAD, and the bonus of providing them to the Rebels. Not sure why Ubi included these; then hobbled them so badly (from an immersion perspective) with goofy RPG elements like using them to earn perks and skills (GRW version of applying magic runes to your rifle, bullet resistance, etc).
MEH! Maybe the next game will feature less nonsense.
Thanks for answering, and in my opinion Wildlands is one of the most replayable games of this gen, I am almost in the beginning of my third pass right now, I just dont get tired and I always play with AI squad. Enter to an enemy base or zone in a different way changes everything and i love that, in the last pass I enter to this base on the north side, well this time I will enter on the south side, or maybe I can get to that building with the parachute, or I am tired of stealth, I am going to kill everyone like ****ing rambo!... You can replay the game and do different things in all missions.
And now that I know that side missions do not count to get the good ending I will only focus on main missions and it will be better because when the rebels are all over the map it's annoying and sometimes they ruin what you had planned, the bad thing is that I will not do the missions of defending the radio and assault radio stations, are very fun to me, the good thing is that I will not do the stupid antennas, intimidate the buchon and of course, less rebels on the roads.
