    Warden Improvements

Really like the warden, but he needs a little bit more. Some slick moves would fix everything. Make his heavies chargeable for more damage, and give him the ability to feint his side lights. The game keeps getting fancy new characters, and the warden lacks substance to his game. Tell me what you think.

Yeah. He is bland compared to all the new characters, and instead of having to nerf all these new guys when everyone complains, they could just make the OGs stronger. Light feints might be crazy, but he needs something more dynamic in his game.

I absolutely agree with you. Warden is a cool character but he needs more. His moveset is dull. Yes, he needs a few more possibilitys to attack and faint.
Its strange to give, for example Highlander the possibilitys for crushing counterstrike to all sides.....somthing I don t understand? Cc is a special of warden and Ubi is giving it to another Char... ?! Warden only has Shoulderb/vortex and Cc....and ok..his zoneattack. ...
Warden needs more... give him some more moves! That would make him more interesting to play.

While the Warden is a very strong pick, his total reliance on guard breaks and ye olde vortex make him boring to play when compared to the newer heroes. Of all the vanguards he's the least fun to both use and fight against. Expanding his kit a little would be good for the game.

Agreed (as for many others of the vanilla roster)

Well I don't mind having it on the Highlander, as for Warden's even if it's only top it is still much stronger. But I REALLY hate that animation we have received there. It looks so weird, weak and undynamic. It's not a windmill move with forward momentum anymore but a strange hop onto the opponent's chest and a (sluggish) halfsword movement, similar to Highlander's (which is much better animated though), that never expresses the damage it deals nor the explosiveness we had before (even if the animation was not totally polished in every regard, sure).

If I'm not mistaken the new Cc animation is somewhat more authentic. The Warden does an "active parry", then performs a half-sword draw-cut on the opponent's collar. My terminology could be off.

It's often the trouble with visual media; authentic techniques look dull and subtle, whereas bold and tactically idiotic movements look powerful and impressive. Such is life.

Highlander getting Cc is a bit lame, I agree (especially as a Warden main), but Warden's Cc is more powerful, and typically you'll get a shoulder bash + side light combo after it.

No, I can't really agree on that one. I come from swordfighting with over 10 years experience in active fighting and learning from various schools and styles and what was performed beforehand and what we see with the current animation now are two different things. The animation we had was a perfect counter in which you actively catch the opponents blow, deflect it slightly and use the force to get more momentum on your weapon swing while adding your own force to it (note: two handing the hilt at the very end again). This combined with the forward movement from the step in in the beginning and voilà: the Crushing Counterstrike we previously had. And that move is indeed flashy and spectacular, also in real life. It opens up and lands a hard strike. The current animation, well, just does not give me the impression of a "Crushing" Counterstrike. It is a counterstrike (which cannot be called a real strike tbh)... and entirely possible to perform... but not powerful at all.
