For Honor needs more steel
Evening everyone.
In For Honor we got steel as our in-game "money", if you want to call it like that. I'm getting straight to the point here. I think For Honor should give us a bit more steel after each completed round. As it is right now its just an annoyingly little amount we get at the end of each match. I've talked to an support worker about it and he said I should post it here.
Here's the Google translation of what i wrote. I'm sorry that I don't type it again, but it's too late for that. It's translated from german. I've made some word games in german, which are stupidly translated, but you'll get the point. Anyways, here's the text:
There is one thing that may be of slightly greater relevance than I would like to imagine here, but I think it would make players positive. It's just an idea, of course. In the end, your developers have to decide about it. It's about the in-game coal; Steel just.
"There are so many executions, emotes, effects, elite and mystic gear that cost a lot. The problem is; For each round you play, you do not earn enough steel for "your performance", let's say. In the dominion mode you earn the most with about 40 to 70 steel "pieces". A round takes about
7-10 minutes, depending on that. Take, for example, an elite set, which costs 7000 steel, as target with a "pay" of 60 steel per round. I would need about 117 rounds to play. Now let's assume that each round of domination lasts 7-10 minutes.
That means it would take about 819-1170 minutes, almost 13.5 to 19.5 hours just to get ONE elite set up free. Only a set of equipment for ONE hero well noticed, and now without the daily orders to refer. What I mean by that is simple: Give us more steel.
Of course there is the possibility with real money to get for 99.90CHF 200'000 steel, but I WON'T pay THAT! YOU can forget THAT!
So what I want is for you to pay more steel per round or go down with the prices. Many players will not be sitting in a game for 14-20 hours to unlock a suit, emote, effect or whatever. It just takes too long.
Therefore, it would be logical to lower prices or spend a lot more steel per round. That would make the players happy and it could be worth it for you as well. More happy players recommend the game to other players, attracting more players who do the same and more games are sold. Quasi a win-win situation. It would certainly be fun for players to get more steel. That would be my idea. It will probably be difficult to install this way. For Honor, however, is pretty much pretty unpopular right now. It could be really good for the game to do such things.
But as I said, it's just a rough idea and your developers should decide about it. Anyway.
I hope you have a nice rest of the day."
I've cut the greeting part at the beginning out, because everyone should know how that works.
Before anyone starts to rant at me I want to make clear one thing: I know there workers also need to get money for their family and themselves. I do not want to say "Hey Ubisoft give us more steel, I play only an hour and want to get 1000 steel for each round and I don't care if its ruining you guys or not." That is not what I want say. I think it would be more inviting for new players to play the game longer. And I think the players, which played from day one, would like to get more steel. I'm especially talking to the more normal players, who don't have like 1000 dollars to spend on one game, or just simply don't have the time to sit 13 to 20 hours on one game to farm steel. Just doubling the amount of steel we get right now would be an improvement. It wouldn't be much, but it would be a start in a good direction.
As I said, it's just an rough idea. It's up to the developers and there marketing team to make that decision. I think it's an good idea, which should be getting some attention from Ubisoft. What do you say? Yes or No? Do we even need more steel? Or do you think theres something else we should pay attention to right now?
Before you think it's useless thinking about such things anyways, think a little bit. We could make this happen. We just need to tell Ubisoft that we want something like that. A lot of people keep on complaining about how stupid and buggy games are nowadays. If we want to have better games, we need to tell developers what we'd like to have inside our games. Just ranting and hating on every new game that comes out won't help anyone. We need to make useful criticism. And screaming "You god damn motherf*****, you f***** it all up! You're useless, you can't do anything right! Pieces of s***!" And so on, and so on. You'll get the point. It's not helping, actually you're giving them the chance to make it look like they're the victims. All the riot about Star Wars Battlefront 2 showed clearly we can do things about it. We players can make a difference, we just need to say. Politely of course, not aggressive.
Sorry I'm just thinking out loud right now. Anyways, thats all I wanted to share here. Have a nice day, good bye.
