What we SHOULD expect to see in PVP MP this time around....

Since we have seen nothing on the PVP multiplayer portion of this game, I felt it was time to express my views on what I hope to expect from UBI this time around. It is my opinion that multiplayer should consist of tried and true old school modes such as DM, TDM, CTF, DOM, and maybe some type of LMS and mode similar to PRED mode on FCI. The time for the gimmicky team based modes has come and gone, and has been a total failure. And as far as I'm concerned, I don't feel that RANKED matches or Matchmaking should even be a part of this game. USER HOSTED LOBBIES PLEASE!

The Far Cry series should never have been about custom classes, ranking up/leveling, or matchmaking. Leave that to the ones that have it locked down, COD and Battlefield etc. Far Cry is NOT a military sim, the story is about an average Joe that finds himself in a world of $h1t and has to pick up whatever weapon he finds and learn to survive. Multiplayer was it's best in FCI where we could place whatever weapons we wanted in the map and play it however we wanted. I would really like to see this series go back to those roots. User hosted lobbies weren't about ranks and scores, it was a social place to get together with friends and also meet some new ones. It was a place to share new map creations and have some laughs while deathmatching and blowing each other up. That is what set Far Cry apart from all the other copycat shooters. It created a community, lifelong friendships were made, and no one cared about their KD ratio. That is what I miss! That is what made Far Cry unique.

So, here I am hoping for the UBI Montreal team to take a step back, take a page out of your old playbook from 2005. The best Far Cry game you guys ever made was FCI: PRED. Of course this is my opinion, but I know several who share it. And I'm really hoping that Far Cry 5 will take me back to a time when I had a game that I just couldn't put down. I loved making maps and sharing them with friends. I loved every gaming session we played, and the hours and hours of laughter and visiting that went with it. This game should be the "REBOOT" of that old classic!

I know not everyone will agree with me, but this is how I feel. And it is why I have not participated in a Far Cry game since Far Cry 2, and that didn't last long. So I am hopeful that they will keep it simple, give us those old standard game modes to play with our friends, and give us a great editor with lots of freedom, and a great way to share our maps and create insane and fun gaming sessions in a user hosted and customizable lobby.
