Hi, any help would be appreciated.
I tried doing an install by installing as administrator. After going through the dialog boxes, the install hangs up during the "removing applications" step and won't go any further. I have to force exit through task manager.
Have you seen this before? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sean
Sorry...turns out it was actually doing the installation, but was exceedingly slow. It did finally ask for all three disks and completed the install. I then ran the patches as admin.
I am now having a different problem. which is that it is missing some .DLL files (kernel.dll, mss32.dll, datfile.dll, memmanage.dll).
Can anyone help with this issue? Thanks
Hi MikeZ,
I am not sure if this will help. I think what I did is after it didn't work, I re-ran through each patch again (run as admin). Then I went to the folder on the hard drive (in my case, C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Chessmaster 10th Edition) and found the executable (it was either "game" or "Chessmaster," I can't remember) and ran as admin, and that finally worked. Maybe take out the CD first, because you don't need it in the drive.
After many attempts, I am requesting help again to resolve a longstanding installation issue. Please help troubleshoot my Chessmaster 10th edition installation on Windows 10 Home. I have been unsuccessful in using the previous tips provided to me so, now I am wondering is it better to uninstall Chessmaster and then reinstall it with specific steps as instructed by Ubisoft technicians. As such, please provide the requested step by step re-installation instructions as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,

Hi, I was searching this forum because I myself was having slight problems. One of which is that none of the links to patches or online info was actually working.
Anyway I copied my cd's to iso format ( my PC doesnt have a cd player anymore had to use an old laptop) and installed that way but did not have any joy until i found patch 1.03 uk. Then I ran it under admin rights and Wham. Loving it again. Not expecting anyone to read this, since this is an old thread but you never know - good luck out there.
