Point of view on current state of the game
Hey fellow new kids!
I felt like providing my point of view regarding the state of the game after spending some time on it as well as spending money into the game to have a real perception of the game. Your point of view may differ from mine though!
This will be in 3 sections: The good, the bad and the "could possibly be considered?"
**The Good**
The game has that good South Park humor mixed with a great card / strategy game. There's not really a deck being stronger than others and all can have a creative way of beating another deck!
For example, full zerg mode (Fantasy / neutral / Pirate deck) can easily take over decks with high cost cards if they're not prepared for it. There are several other deck strategies which is always amusing and refreshing when fighting someone else.
Of course, some cards do tend to be "the go to", but they're only flavors of the category (MBP not really having a hard counter under rank 20). Although stay assured, as you rank up slowly and carefully, you'll acquire new spells and abilities to deal with these situations.
It's also great that there's a story mode with funny dialogs and the possibility to re-do the stages (although becoming harder every time you clear it).
The game also offers original ways to get your cards stronger. Get materials from a specific theme to get it stronger and once **maxed**, if you have enough duplicates, you can level up the card which gives a big boost.
The theme decks are original.
*Pirate* is all about dishing as much damage possible.
*Sci-fi* is about controling the field, DoTs (damage over time) and mind controls.
*Mythical* is all about heals, energy regen, altering regen of the other oponent cleanse and among other cards. In my opinion this is a really strong theme.
*Fantasy* is all about buffing your units and debuffing your enemy units or the new kid itself. It's centered around making units being hindered on their attack damage, health boost or reducing health, invulnerability bubbles.
**Neutral** is all about ManBearPig, DooDoo boy and Nathan. :P
Overall, the game is great! But there's a big butt...
**The bad**
Too much RNG in order to achieve an upgrade (exception of spell cards).
Here's what's needed in order to level up a card: gold, materials, duplicates of a card. Materials doesn't always drop and is based on the locker system (3 lockers to open to possibly get the mats you want) and packs of cards. Although there's 5 themes (Neutral is somewhat a theme with it's own materials), it becomes harder to get the expected materials to level up the cards.
Gold, although it should be a common ressource, is not really present. Packs gives about 50 gold. Although being somewhat enough the first upgrades of the cards, setting a card to level 3 costs 500 and about 100 and more the upgrades afterward, thus hindering the progression. On top of this, the amount of cards that can be acquired per day is also minimal, making it that people tend to keep their cards and not share with their guildmates since you hardly get any cards.
Thus, to have a stronger card, you need mats, which you have common, rare and epic materials for each themes and then gold which is rare. Of course this is somewhat fixed when you start putting money, but the current state feels like a *all or nothing*.
Also, there was a hack which their trollbane seems to have fixed. The only remaining problem is about the poor connection issue, which I've been getting less these days (Rank 27 at the moment).
**Could Possibly be Considered?**
More money drop: Would be great. It would help upgrading units and acquiring mats via the daily shop.
Having dailies or weeklies: Completing 5 wins a day gives you a random *chest* containing a specific theme. The chest can be from 5 cards (cartboard chest) to Epic cartman stash (30 cards) with chances being rare of getting it, but still being possible. This will help having cards roll out between members (while some will still hoard them... freaking loot hoarders!)
Finally, not only events based on PvP. Some events that you need to fight a kid with a special deck and winning gives rewards could make a change. Just my 2 cent here
Overall, I've been talking positively about the game and of course, there's always place for improvements. The game is really great and I'm sure, among many other fans, that they want to see the game grow in a bright way!
