It's frustrating when you're playing your class well but that isn't reflected at the end of the match with points on the scoreboard. For example, in Uplink the Tech can really influence the game by putting a jammer down so the enemy can't use the Uplink laptop. The Tech then uses C4 to protect the jammer and holds a little way back to defend it. Playing the class using all of it's assets you'd expect to earn some points even if you don't rush forward to pick off the enemy alongside the Pointman. After all, the Scout earns points from doing what the class is supposed to do - spotting enemies.
So here's some suggestions (not an exhaustive list by any means) for giving additional points for playing the class to it's potential:
Tech - should earn points each time an enemy drone flies into the jammers radius. Also points (per second?) for blocking the uplink/recon tower.
Enforcer - should earn points for suppressing the enemy/ extra points if a team mate kills an enemy that was suppressed by the Enforcer.
Medic - should earn extra points for reviving team mates using the drone (it might then get used more for reviving rather than spotting).
Artillary - should earn points when the enemy has to move out of the blast radius (flushed from cover)
Pointman - should earn points for flashing enemies.
Assassin - should earn extra points if killing the enemy from behind or spotting enemies within 30m.
Just a thought![]()
A great example! Otherwise there's no incentive to make yourself the target.Originally Posted by mezzatron Go to original post
Defo. Why should a Tank get nothing for taking marks away but the Drone gets multiple points for marking. The Tank should take the points away from the drone too.Originally Posted by mezzatron Go to original post
Yes please. Every class should be able to earn points other than just from killing. Shooting a enemy mine or C4 should get you 10 points for example. I believe this would bring more balance as it will stop classes being picked just for the point harvesting.Originally Posted by Shineydisconuts Go to original post
Well when I play tank I use it wisely. I don't avoid using it because it doesn't give me points. If you want to win, you need to make sure you do your job. And as a tank, it's an important role to take away markers for your team mates.Originally Posted by Strep72 Go to original post
I still use it, even though I don't get points.
Anyways, it should give +15 points for each team member I took away the markers for. So if all 3 of my team mates were marked and I took away their markers, I'd get 45 points,
I gave a low number, because the cool down on this skill is pretty quick.
Thats the right attitude mezz
When i use scout say..im not harvesting points,,,,im going ahead of my team with the drone to make sure they dont walk into a trap.
Individual points dont matter to me , im here for the team win,,,nothing more.
Though it is infuriating when you get a player only interested in points , or in staying alive rather than helping the team .
