I think not having them has suited Origins really well.
I just started playing the Ezio Collection and was shocked at how bland the missions are without them in AC2 though.
I think the premise is okay, maybe the selection of what the objective was could be suspect at times - cough-Da Vinci's cough-war machines.
Don't even get me started on that...Originally Posted by LCD_Dave_N7 Go to original post
Tank and flying machine headache.
People forget that the optional objectives started out really fun in Brotherhood because they provided challenge while somehow making it easier depending on the type of player you were. For instance, no more auto fails upon detection but if you wanted to test your stealth skills it's there for you to do so. The optional objectives were also in line with what Ezio would actually do, It made total sense that Ezio wouldn't want to be detected while on a mission. But then optional objectives, like every other feature in AC games, became lazy or nonsensical padding. The "put crocodiles to sleep while tailing" is a prime example.
That mission design was fantastic. Classic AC.Originally Posted by StormsAndSaints Go to original post

Ugh. The only thing I can remember from that game was: 'All you had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!'Originally Posted by LCD_Dave_N7 Go to original post
