    Go back

What would be really cool is if you could go back to the age of dinosaurs and throw accuracy out the window so this time there are actual dinosaurs to befriend and tame so do lot's of research and involve the people behind Jurassic park movies to find endless variations and types of dinosaurs who once you gain their trust will let you ride them into battle. So let's say you want to be friends with a herbivore like a stegosaurus, gently soothe him, tempt him with a bit of his favourite plants to munch on and then he'll be yours to command. Imagine for instance building up from befriending one to herds of animals like t-Rex or bigger to attack enemies or commanding a triceratops stampede to crush anyone in their way wrecking enemy camps.
You need tons of dinosaurs far more than far cry primal's animals to command on land, sea and in the air both carnivores and herbivores of varying degrees of intelligence which can help in various ways like helping knock over trees and piling up logs for traps that will come crashing downhills on enemies and to help be a prehistoric series of construction vehicles to build walls to keep intruders out and underground and above ground shelters to protect camps from man and nature.
New dangers could be volcanic eruptions, avalanches, rockslides, floods winds and earthquakes which could reshape maps meaning that when you think you've done and found everything on a map, a natural disaster will strike reshaping the landscape into new maps and the dinosaurs will evolve and adapt and so will the types of tools available as well as the flora and fauna for living off the land.
New human characters will be able to be befriended as well by rescuing them from various accidents and they'll reward you with new weapons and inventions blunt and sharp and with the discovery of the wheel you'll be able to build basic vehicles and catapaults to launch every imaginable type of projectile. All of the vehicles will be able to be upgraded with bigger wheels for rougher terrain and small boats will be able to travel across water. Enemies will be humans enslaving others to uncover gems in mines for bartering and performing human sacrifices which must be prevented as well as seeking to conquer the maps and so your allies human and animal will constantly be growing smarter and thinking of new ways to outwit the enemy. Bartering itself will be a form of currency as everything from simple trinkets to large eggs will be usable.
Man will also be developing his own forms of hand to hand combat and their will be many more weapons and tools than before so these will be great for takedowns. Also consider a third person view so players can easily swing through vines like Tarzan. Use the cold steel website for ideas for prehistoric versions of the weapons shown there to give players a wider arsenal than before.
Make missions varied so that objectives evolve with the map from rescue friends, capturing positions and enemies who themselves could become friends, to simply survival based missions like finding clean water and new and best sources of food and materials for clothes, shelter and weapons weather high in the mountains or down in tropical jungles and beaches you'll find new tribes, animals, dinosaurs and missions which can be trickier or harder depending if you want to be stealthy or loud using darkness and taking into how weather will help keep you quieter or louder letting you go slow or fast.
Traversal will be essential so you'll need to be able to climb any surface and while the animals and dinosaurs will have the edge as natural predators and be adept at finding plants to nibble on safely, you'll need to be able take into account oxygen when climbing mountains and swimming.
Early combustible materials will be stumbled upon allowing the creation of new weapons utilising basic explosives.

What if there was a Far Cry Dino Riders game that you could play third or first person with the ability to switch views?
To see how this would work use these links and the original voice actors wherever possible https://youtu.be/eqUvAhrb86Y https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUO6VcDK0owm_LEOqr1tCf1sdu4OYBtLA
to adapt all of this into a free new campaign for far cry primal so that people who already own it can switch to this new world from the main menu easily
The ideas in the post above could be worked into the idea of a game based on the Dino riders toys and cartoons and if at all possible the original voice actors could be contacted or s 5 star cast of actors for the voices.
For an example of the dinosaurs you'd encounter check this out to see how you could use the various Dinos, weapons and multiplayer aspects of the larger ones
    http://figure-archive.net/toyline.aspx?toylineID=596
You'd get the brief intro where as the valorises you'd crash on earth during the age of dinosaurs and the Rulons would also crash and be after your STEP (space time energy projector) to get back to their empire.
You'd have the ability through a telepathic necklace called an AMP to talk to dinosaurs and team mates for everything from befriending them to issuing commands.
Tamed pet dinosaurs will let you hop aboard to travel about the jungle and mountainous map for exploring and will love cuddles and belly rubs. You'll be issued a double barrelled laser pistol and have access to a vast array of shoulder fired weapons.
Initially you will have missions based on finding energy sources like springs and other bodies of water and the game will seem a lot like previous far cry instalments as you go about the map finding that your new pet dinosaurs will be divided into air and ground categories.
All this will change when you discover the Rulons have crashed on Earth as well and it will be vital to start arming your Dino buddies with weapons systems like lasers and various missiles which will be accessible through your weapons menu.
Each Valorian will have a different specialty and missions associated with them, with Gunnar being the guy to play as for heavy firepower based dinosaurs like the torosaurus and him requiring you to find new dinosaurs that can handle these weapons including the Stegosaurus among others, Turret, being the scientific guy who rides the styracosaurus and will have science based mission, yungstar will be the hotshot quetzalcoatlus pilot with missions reflecting this and Serena will be the beautiful caring Dino rider who will be the healer and empath of the group whose missions will involve helping injured dinosaurs by bringing them back to the Dino riders base camp for feeding and healing plants making them part of your growing amount of pets.
The ability to switch dinosaurs would be available as your amp necklace would call them and they'd approach quietly or gallop up to you depending on the command issued and each one when unarmed would have a quiet stealthy attack or a louder more aggressive one.
The rulons would immediately set about using traps like claw shaped rocks and small walls of branches twine as well as vine fences to trap poor dinosaurs and slap weapons and via collars on chains, mechanical arms that hold dinosaurs by the neck attach brain boxes on them to control them.
Their Tyrannosaurus rex would be armed to the teeth with several rulons controlling various weapons.
Both sides would be able to access each other's army of dinosaurs and if you can shoot the brain box off a rulon dinosaur they'll throw them off and go wild trashing the environment and anyone nearby unless you can calm and tame them with your AMP and they'll be your new pet.
Let's say you want to fly then summon a quetzalcoatlus and hop aboard the seat on his back and you'll have access to his double lasers on each wing allowing for dogfights against enemy pteranodons, recon, strafing runs or whatever you desire.
Need an artillery load dinosaur? Then the diplodocus will be the one for you and up to four other players as one player rides while the pods on his body are controlled by another player opening up firing rockets while another works the neck mounted missiles unleashing them individually or as a barrage.
The faster dinosaur would the deinonychus who would also be the stealthiest and fastest much like a velociraptor.
The types of weapons combinations would be up to the player and they could upgrade dinosaurs to be as stealthy and as powerful as they want th emp weapons, stun emitters, armor piercing lasers, heat seeking missiles and antitank rounds to rip off enemy Armor.
The idea would be more about hurting the rulons sending them scurrying with extra points being given when a dinosaur isn't injured after being flipped or knocked over from a blast. Your pets will instinctively seek to regain health by drinking from nearby bodies of water and nibbling on plants or special made Jurassic petfood and like any good pet owners the more time you spend with them the more you can teach them and when not in combat they can compete in assault/agility courses with locations of new dinosaurs appearing as rewards.
Also include exotic animals like poisonous and non poisonous arachnid insects and snakes as being capable of being tamed and becoming pets. They will be the more shy animals and will go where commanded to attack and scare away the rulons
