No one Playing Tournament Mode? | Forums

Hi For Honor team, I just wanted to say that the new tribute mode is great; however, I really want to start playing tournament so I can earn this season's rewards and have a shot at last season. I unfortunately have not been able to get into a tournament at all since Season 4 started. Can you please reconsider eliminating the tournament rewards once the season is over. I cannot even get to play the mode to have a chance. :-( I dont know what the problem is. I even wait until is times out multiple times.

It could be your NAT settings. Double check you have all the needed ports open

Its lack of players in your region to fill the game mode since all games are region hardlocked despite matchmaking saying "ALL REGIONS".

I dont understand. I am in southwest USA. I should be able to get at LEAST 8 people in a match at all times.

Not sure what platform you play but you are kinda late on tournament.

Tournament was really popular on xbox one when it came out, but quickly died due to the players it attracted and at the time cents were a menace:

-OP Cents
-Ledgers
-Assassins
-Stampede charging Raiders
-turtling

and
-Insane amount of lag switchers
-Red bar warriors
- tournament system itself is very buggy and will crash

The last three made so if you could beat the assassins, cents, and turtles you now couldn't because your opponent is reverting the damage you did to them.

Remembered I killed a lag switching Warden, was in mid execution and he reverted the animation, got his health back and shoulder bash double light me....

And because of instances like this and the fact that the devs made the rewards RNG to make players play this buggy game mode more, literally grinding in a tournamant, players who didn't like this just stop playing it.


When the game mode first came out, Tournament hold 16 players, each bracket had 4 players in it, doing 3 qualifier matches to get to the 1st and 2nd seed of the bracket to get out. Cutting the 16 players to 8 - then 4 - then 2 and finally 1.

When I last played this mode the tournament could barely find players. It would start the tournament with 4 players in 1 bracket meaning now the qualifier matches don't matter because there's only 4 people in this tournament so everyone will go to the next phase despite their wins and losses.

Sometimes the tournament will randomly introduce a 2nd bracket of players and combine them, this only happened to me once and the game tournament crashed towards the end. The game mode crashes alot often times you could be waiting for a Finals match and never get one, waiting for almost a hour you have to abandon the tournament, get a penalty and get demoted.

I too just wanted to cool rewards for my Nobushi but it's just not work losing my sanity over it.

The developers said in Season 4 you gain the reward of the class you won as, which is nice. I wonder if once you win one tournament, will you get duplicates if you win again with the same class, or will they then implement random rewards?

Regardless, There has to be at least 7 other people trying to play tournament, and I cant even get in a match....

That's good that they fix the rewards but I think everyone has been turned off by it due to the first impressions.
