"Disaster" is a bit of an exaggeration. LOD (Level Of Detail) changing with distance is part of every 3D game ever. It is designed to be minimally noticeable while you are moving through the world at a normal speed. It is not possible to have perfect transitions when you stand at the exact distance where an LOD change occurs. This video exaggerates the effect, artificially maximizing the effect by zooming in and moving back and forth in an unnatural way that you would never experience in normal gameplay.
Incidentally, this effect is also present on the PC version when Environment Detail is set to High. When Environment Detail is cranked up to Ultra, the transitions are barely noticeable. They are still there, but harder to see. Realistically, you would never see them in the course of normal play. Of course the consoles don't have the GPU power to support "Ultra" detail so it is more visible on consoles if you look for it.
Sorry, if the character can view it up close from a distance then the game should be able to deal with that. Watching the game draw detail absolutely ruins the immersion and I have never seen it so bad as I have on this game. On occasion I've run through entire towns/cities that have not properly drawn, that is not acceptable. If drawing the final version quick enough is too much for the GPU to handle, then make the textures a bit less detailed. I'd much rather that than running through undrawn towns and zooming in on a fort and seeing basically no textures.Originally Posted by Carch Go to original post

Pretty sure you're not supposed to run through entire locations with half of it not loading inOriginally Posted by TickTak77 Go to original post![]()
There are still graphical detail issues in 1.05. I recorded a PS4 video in 1.04 based on a screenshot I saw on reddit of some flags disappearing above the Alexandria palace. That is still happening.
I think that objects winking in and out of existence as you move through the environment is a bit worse than slight level of detail changes at a distance. As far as I can tell, this problem does not happen on PC 1.03. The flags never appear in the first place, and the white fabric draped over the one building entrance does not appear and disappear.
dude...if you are fine with playing a game that has been presented for it's amazing world and high quality, and settle for textures popping all over the place, then more power to you! I won't settle for that...and it's definitely ruining my experience. Anybody that settles for that is either not tuned into the graphics at all, or they are just not paying attention. If you are that guy...then so be it! I'm not!Originally Posted by SwiftyLovesYou Go to original post
I want to love this world for its beauty and authenticity.
I hate to make the comparison, but if CD projekt could get this right with W3...why not Ubi who is a massive company. If they over extended with the graphics, then bring the overall texture quality down, but the pop from really bad to really good is distracting, annoying, and yes game breaking for me!
It's pretty much the same for me, buildings not loading in completely ..bodies flickering along with trees. Statues for me look like abstract paintings. It's been that way for me since 1.03. Complaining pretty much has got me nowhere, all I can do now is hope they fix it. Sucks cause I love the game
