So I've been playing For Honor since launch way back in February, even beat the campaign on Hard and Realistic.
I stopped playing PvP barely a month into the game's release because the playerbase sucked all the fun out of playing a casual match or learning heroes. Spamming moves, throwing players off ledges, and ganging up to 4 v 1 players got very tiresome.
But I had the PvAI modes which actually made the game enjoyable. Level 1 bots gave me plenty of opportunity to learn heroes at my own pace, level 2 bots provided a challenge but weren't pushovers, and the occasional level 3 bot that appeared in Dominion or Skirmish almost seemed like a miniboss.
10 months of playing against AI, ranking up my heroes has net me a reputation of 54, probably nothing impressive compared to some tournament players. But I don't play for diamond tier, or to be the best on the leaderboard. I play just to have fun, to kill a few hours completing my orders, and rank up the heroes I'm good with to see their new armor and weapons.
To put it plainly, the notion that my Rep 54 suddenly means I'm only allowed to fight Level 3 Bots all the time now, sucks. Especially when I'm trying to learn how to play Aramusha and Shaman right now.
I want to keep playing For Honor for as long as possible, because it is fun. But playing against bots who can read controller inputs and attack/block/counter-attack in perfect frame windows, just reminds me why I stopped playing PvP.

I concur with Eric. I just purchased this game and loved the player vs Bot difficulty before, it was just fair enough.
I don't have a lot of time to spend with video games, so I cannot get good enough. BUT I am a BIG spender with my money when I like a game. I have already spent a lot of money with For Honor extra stuff, don't mine, it is cool stuff. But, very concerned about this forced BOT 3 change. Confidence low for any future purchases.
Like has been said, is it so difficult to add a little code to allow selecting Bot 1 or 2 difficulty. You could scale XP according to Bot level selected. Thank-you.
Oh, and the patch notes from Ubisoft " Bot level is adjusted to K/D ratio" Now, you got me consciously thinking about K/D ratio. I can play COD if I wanted that feeling, please no! Thanks Ubi.

I have no problem admitting im a casual at this game. I dont play it for the hardcore pvp schtick or to try to challenge myself with every match. Sometimes i just want to relax and make a little progress in some PvAI. Level 2 bots were perfect for that. Just challenging enough that you had to pay attention, but easy enough that i could experiment with and learn the nuances of any hero i played.
Im more of a 80% PvAI and 20% PvPer, but now that i have literally no option to play against lvl 2 bots (where i consider my comfort zone) it really stole the thunder from my enjoyment in the game. Im not interested in custom matches where no progress is made in any match.
I respectfully ask that there be an option to pick what level bot/challenge you wish to fight in PvAI game modes. Hell, if you feel so inclined, adjust the xp and steel rewards to scale with challenge (i.e 50% xp/steel for lvl 1 bots, 75% for lvl 2 bots, 100% for lvl 3 or something of the like) so i at least can pick my challenge and still get some kind or meaningful gain to my preferred play style instead of choosing between PvP (which isnt relaxing or suited to casual play) or PvAI with lvl 3 bots (where you basically get steamrolled every match unless you turtle up and have a poke match with the bot).
I really really like this game and dont want to lose steam in my enjoyment. Please create a setting that allows us to pick our difficulty level in PvAI.
tl;dr please impliment a difficulty selector for PvAI matches asap.

I believe the sole real purpose of Custom Match is to discreetly let you train against level 3 bots and thus avoid further disappointment whenever you end up facing a level 3 bot in PvP. But on a general scale, level 3 bots should show up based on individual character reputation levels, not overall player renown/skill. Also, players should have the possibility of selecting AI difficulty in multiplayer when they choose PvAI. Moreso rewarding the player appropriately for choosing to fight level 3 bots. Most people won't really bother with Custom Match too much because Custom Match yields no XP and no loot.
The game should let the players customize their own combat atmosphere in more ways than it is currently doing, and frankly, it should reward them more for their efforts in multiplayer. I only hope someone at Ubisoft will listen.

Alright, 5 minutes ago I was in a match. 3 Shamans and a Conqueror bot. For the sake of keeping this relatively short, I won’t even get into my feelings on Shaman. But I got the Conqeror bot twice. He never bit feints. He never missed a parry. And he NEVER got hit. I kind of pride myself on being decent at this game, it’s weird to say but I kind of revel in the chaos and get a sense of victory beating cheap characters. But even since the Closed Alpha, NOBODY has ever played that accurately. Trust me, I was there. These bots are actually unbeatable without at least 2 people sometimes and it really is hurting the 1v1 aspect of this game.

@Megablade619 when it comes to level 3 bots, take your time and preferably do duels, not brawls or 4v4. Take your time and don't throw random lights because they'll parry everything. Level 3 bots weren't meant to encourage you to ragingly attack to lower their health, they're meant to make you work more on counters, feints, parries, and punishes. Which are the pillars of For Honor's skill ceiling. I think level 3 bots are fine, they should just show up only when manually selected in PvAI, and only based on character reputation level in PvP.

@Fady117 You do make a good point, and I will admit my salt levels were high, but the bot just wouldn’t bite feints. He didn’t react until the frame after I could’ve switched to a gb or a light. Bots used to just eat unblockables and honestly, I’m glad that’s changed because it forces people to stay on their game and not just dismiss the bot all together. But they didn’t just make bots viable teammates, that bot carried the team.

Putting it plainly, the new season 4 bots are, in layman's terms, f*cking b*llsh*t
They have completely ruined the game experience for me, and as much as I would like to enjoy the double xp weekend, I just can't. I can't play this game anymore without becoming so enraged that I want to punch a hole in my wall.
Playing against bots is about having a more relaxing, fun, and less competitive experience for those of us who just want to sit back and have a good time, NOT for those of us who want our teeth kicked in over and over by what basically feels like a f*cking termintor.

Im account rep 114 main Warlord.
Im maybe a bit over casual, but not mutch, these Rep 3 bots need another fighting system. Ive always been able to 1vs2 easy. Also survived a lot of 1vs4 back in the days.
Now im happy if i survive 1vs1.
Im happy the bots are a bit Harder but come on. This is unreal.
Bots Cheat no doubt about that.
This need a fix.
