Behold! A mighty update approaches! Cheaters shall be banished, sweet new cutscenes shall be added, and the filthiest of bugs shall be squashed to a slimy puree!
Hey, everyone! Steve from RedLynx here! All of us here at RedLynx are stoked to see that many players are enjoying Phone Destroyer. It’s been exciting getting the game out to the world, but we’ve still got work to do! In that spirit, over the next 2 days we are rolling out an update for all users that will address some key issues, and add some awesome content. This rollout process will begin now on iOS devices, and should begin tomorrow for Android devices. This phased rollout may result in slightly longer than normal matchmaking times, but is necessary from a functional perspective. Here’s what’s up with the new update:
Cheaters Shall Be Banished 🔨
First off, I’ll say that this issue is one we are working hard to address, and something we take very seriously. There’s no question that we need to make improvements here, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. For those unclear on the policy we have, I’ll restate it. All users who are now cheating, have cheated in the past, or cheat in the future, will be permanently banned. There are no exceptions to this policy. Thus, the Hammer of Ban has been dropped.
Sometime after this rollout process has been completed, we will be implementing several measures that will reduce cheating. This is a 1-2 punch to the noggin of cheaters, as we are not only modifying our under-the-hood capability, but also taking away popular tools for cheating. 🥊💥 In an effort to address this issue, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to turn off support for emulated devices, rooted devices, and jailbroken devices. In coming days, we will be phasing out support for these devices and device states, but support for them should now officially be considered disabled.
We will also be enacting a few behind-the-scenes changes that will make it more difficult for people to selfishly ruin the experience of others through cheating.I can't comment on the specifics, but they will help this situation as well. Hundreds of cheaters have been banned at this point, and this process will continue in the event users attempt to circumvent these protocols and cheat.
This is a big step, but it is nowhere near our final iteration for our anticheat mechanisms. As is the nature of cheaters, they will continue to try to find ways to ruin the player experience for others, but we will continue to make it harder to do so, and ban any users who seek to use these cheats.
Sweet New Cutscenes Shall Be Added 📺
When we launched the game, it didn’t include the final cutscene! Now, there are 3 different possible endings for you to watch, complete with awesome cutscenes made in cooperation with the brilliant geniuses over at South Park Digital Studios! If you haven’t beaten the game yet, be sure to do so to check these out. If you’ve already beaten the game, unfortunately these won’t be available until we roll out the ability to replay these cutscenes in-game, or until you excitedly search for them on YouTube.
Bugs Shall Be Pureed 🐛🍹
After looking at all of your reports, we found and squashed some bugs! These improvements should lend to a more seamless gameplay experience, and fewer erroneous circumstances during PvP play. Some important fixes:
-Damage debuffs were sometimes causing units to heal the units they were striking, this has been fixed
-Your opponent’s team was not being displayed during PvP matches, this has been fixed
-The profanity filter has been turned off in chat (but if you see something offensive, please report it by pressing and holding on the offending post!) You can now say **** and ***** and even ****-****BAGEL, if the mood strikes… 
-An issue where the character name next to a text message was sometimes incorrect has been fixed
-The health of Pocahontas Randy’s spawned units has been corrected - this should display as 70 now, rather than 45
So that’s what’s new in Phone Destroyer! We’ve made improvements to our anticheat, added some awesome cutscenes, and fixed some bugs! If you haven’t downloaded the new update on your iOS device, be sure to do so now! If you’re on Android, just sit tight, this will be rolling out for you soon!
