It is my belief that the reward system is what makes players lash out against others. Currently, you get renown by revives, takedowns, kills, executions, etc. There is no penalty for friendly fire, killing teammates, or causing them to die by the other bot or player or from feats. The way to get the ability to use feats, after unlocking them all by reaching 1 on prestige, is by gaining renown during matches. The cooldown on feats is absolutely needed. I've never liked the way feats are unlocked during matches. All 4 feats should be unlocked at the start of a match and then the cooldown on active feats should be increased as well.

Here’s a scenario I’m in often: I’m in a 1v1, get the enemy down to die in 1 hit and I have a bar left on my health, one of my teammates comes over and uses a catapult to kill the enemy and myself thus getting 4 renown as a reward and then reviving me getting 40 renown or my guy stumbles and falls off a cliff. All this bc your teammate was being selfish to get feats unlocked in the match? Seems wrong or dishonorable, whatever you want to call it. So, it’s like getting rewarded for killing your teammate which is the opposite of what should happen. That person should get less steel after finishing the match, reduction in xp, and loss of a feat or something. Perhaps making the xp and steel reward at the end of a match tied with 1vX kills, and not kill assists.

I do think that a team that has a teammate kill a member should have a reduction in the total score needed to win, maybe do the same in dominion.

Point is that this kind of system is making the player base toxic towards each other. I don’t have a full proof system, but something needs to change. I’m more worried about dying from my own team than the opposite team at this point.
