Far Cry 4 Black Screen During Gameplay

Hello, this is my first post, and hopefully last that I have had to make on the technical support topic.

I am having issues with Far Cry 4 that I have never had in the past.
My game had run perfectly fine up until the other day when I was playing alone, during gameplay, the game froze, then took me to a black screen, from which I couldnt do anything. But when I go to task manager, it says the game is running fine, no "not responding" message or anything. I can still hear sound, and it happens quite frequently, any help? I have tried verifying the files through steam, no help, I have all my drivers and such updated.

    My Specs:
    Processor: AMD FX 8350
    GPU: Powercolor R9 380
    PSU: CX 750
    8 GB of RAM

please check your backround applications there are several that FAR CRY 4 hates

see the post i created here http://steamcommunity.com/app/298110...6486417358966/

also if you downloaded the game via Steam

umm steam will install an old outdated version along with your game files as mentioned in that post on the steam forums are details on how to correct that

Steps to try \ Win 10

    1) open task manager, (Win key + X) find the following process: UbisoftGameLauncher.exe, and end the process.

    2) After that, go to add \ remove programs in your windows control panel

(press win key + X select apps and features .. look on the right side and select Programs and features) .

select uninstall UPlay and then exit once its done

    3) Download and reinstall Uplay PC from https://uplay.ubi.com , as this will update the client to the latest version .

    4) Launch the game again.

also in the past AMD HAS indeed released a few driver versions that just simply caused the game to fail on launch as noted in the troubleshooting tips section on Steam

so check the AMD forums too in case its a NEW AMD driver issue .. i use only Nvidia GPU's now (so i can't say if it is indeed driver related )

and as always remember this forum you posted in is not Ubi Support its a forum to get help from the FC 4 community members

    so ..

If you are still having issues , please go to the Support site for your region and open a support ticket, try webchat or
initiate a phone call direct to support (if available for your region )
you can find phone number\ support options \ and support hours information @ https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Contact#en-gb

good luck i hope ya find your fix!

have you tried to update your video Drivers

AMD just released new ones today

    please provide some HARDWARE INFO
    cpu ?
motherboard and bios ? ..yea you may need to update your system bios or adjust a setting
Memory type and amount and is it a matched set ?
    OS version ?
Vid card type and drivers ?
do you have any Known background applications installed that may be an issue ..?
yes this includes your antivirus ?

how old is your Power supply and whats its wattage ?make ? model ?
yes power supply's do sometimes go bad and cause a ton of different errors in demanding games (like FC 4 )

i got no idea what your issue may be without any of that info , FarCry 4 ran here since the day the game shipped in Nov 2014
i have used 5 different systems here with the same result each time

    the game worked great!
