My camera forces me to look in one direction even though I move R3 button.

[UPDATE] So this sounds weird, but I know it is not a PS4 controller issue since I have tried multiple controllers.

So here is a detailed description of the issue I am having that started sometime in between the Aya: Blade of the Goddess quest and Battle of the Nile quest:

While not on horseback or swimming, my camera that you use to look around (the R3 button) always returns to one direction as if it were locked on to something. The easiest way for me to describe it is using a clock as an analogy.

Say I move my FOV to 12 o'clock using my R3 stick, then on its own, my camera shifts my FOV to 4 o'clock after 1 second.
I then use my R3 stick to move it to 9 o'clock, but then on its own, my camera again shifts back to 4 o'clock after 1 second.

I have yet to have this problem until I started playing the Aya: Blade of the Goddess quest line, and I really don't want this to be a problem that persists through the end of the game.

The game is virtually unplayable at this point because I can't even fight properly with my camera swinging around constantly.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.

Can you please provide a video of this?

I would also recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to see if it helps:

    1. If you are playing on a PS4 Pro please make sure that the boost mode is disabled in the PS4 settings.
    2. Delete the games install data.
    3. Rebuild the database on your PlayStation 4.
    4. Reinstall the game and download the latest patch update and any DLC content that you own, then try again.

I am having the exact same problem, camera keeps facing almost due South. This happened in the Aftermath.

    I'm Having the Same issue

    Dear Ubi-Keo

Are you suggesting that I remove all updates (that took forever to download in my country with our slow internet)? not to mansion the money I have to spend for each Gigabit (again with slowest internet on planet!)

By the way my Issue started after playing with Aya and after installing the latest update, thus I don't think that installing the latest update would resolve any issues.

I'm very frustrated with this issue, I was enjoying the game very much but now ...

Anyways, I appreciate if anyone could give me any tips other than deleting stuff and re-downloading files ...

    Thanks

I'm having the same problem Ubisoft... It's focusing on the quest objective diamond in the battle of the nile after I kill the guy on the war elephant (not the chariot ride, but in the elephant arena). People are attacking me, three on horseback just rode up, but I can't fight cause it wont' let me move the camera off that marker even if I target lock an enemy.... You people did... play the game before release, right?

well..... I saw a youtube vid of the same thing just randomly in a city but most commenting on it were like me, just after the Septimus fight. Quit to the main menu, reloaded the last save, and it's fine now.... By the way, why do your forums suck? Why do I have to sign in even 1 minute after closing the page? Why can't they keep me signed in for awhile, if not permanently unless I clear the cache on Chrome like any other forum? And why can't I edit posts to add more thing instead of making post after post....

    Found a solution.

This Is Complicated So Try To Keep Up.

Alright so after doing all sorts of things, like getting video ready to ask people, changing controllers/mouse/keyboard, removing peripherals, checking hardware was set up properly, making sure I had the latest version of the game yada yada, I found this really niche and complicated solution.

Basically you need to be a pro-level hacker to do this so I'll break it down depending on what platform you're using (I did it on xbox and it worked fine, so I'm assuming same for other platforms).

    Xbox One

    Okay, try to keep up:

    1) Press the Xbox icon on your controller.

    2) Scroll right three times using the 'RB' or 'Right Bumper'.

    3) Scroll down once.

    4) Hit the 'A' button on your controller (It's the green one (unless you have a fancy controller)).

    5) Scroll down six times.

    6) Scroll right once.

    7) Hit the 'A' button (same one as in point '4').

    8) Scroll down once.

    9) Hit the 'A' button (again, still the same button).

This will restart your console. When it has restarted, load the game. Good luck you numpty.

    PC/PS4

Basically the same as xbox, but I'll let you skip to that last little sentence: Restart your computer/console. Not a little bit. Not screen off or sleep mode or something like. Turn it all off and all on again. Yes I know it sucks. I know you'll have to reopen all the tabs again and sit the on your phone for a bit. But suck it up and get over yourself. Jeez.
