I really enjoyed it myself. In all honesty, that was the only way I really played it for the most part (solo). The story was lacking but the campaign was still fun. It is an RPG though so get ready for bullet sponge enemies, etc. It almost turned me off completely in the beginning but once you acquire higher level weapons, gear and experience, enemies can be eliminated much easier. The city is comprised of different areas / blocks set at different difficulty levels. In my case, I would make sure I leveled up far enough that I could comfortably move into new areas / missions without too much frustration.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
The customization is pretty cool as well since you can configure your weapons with accessories and such that help with certain attributes. Backpacks that hold more ammo, items, etc. It's entertaining in that regard.
For me, the DZ (PvP area in the center of the city) was an awful experience. I was expecting to be able to meet up with randoms and work together to take out the roving NPC thugs but more often than not, it was full of griefers and people just trying to ruin your day.
You can still play co-op with buddies or randoms if you wish, either in the DZ, on the streets of the city and/or while doing missions. I didn't have any friends at the time who were playing this title, but it was still and ok experience with some of the randoms I met. If you can find some mates to play with, you will probably have a better experience than I did. ......btw, entering the DZ is essentially seamless so it's not like entering another rmode at all.
Personally, I thought the Division was worth it. .....especially now if you can get it on sale. My experience with it was mainly solo but even then I found it fun in its own way.
There are daily and weekly challenges you can do solo.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
Missions are replayable and rewards / equipment are still awarded within those areas as well as around the city as you kill enemies.
Safehouses have search and destroy missions where you gain intel points (IIRC). With those intel points you can go back to the HQ and go to the HVT area where you can complete missions to take out high value targets for rewards. I think you have to be level 30 before you can do that though.
Sorry, I'm trying to describe all this based on memory. There's obviously more detail than I'm portraying here.
As for the title being worth it or not, I'm more of a PvE / solo player myself and I think the Division was well worth it. ....even at full price (I purchased it on release).
Yeah, no problem. I was still playing the Division off and on before the release of GRW. Only then did I finally uninstall it.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
I was disappointed in the title since I thought it could have been much more. ....I was following it since they first announced it.
Here's a short movie Ubi did for the game called The Division: Agent Origins. It was kind of cool and worth a watch:

I'd also check game reviews as well if you're worried about possibly regretting the purchase. I thought GRW was way closer to what I was longing for in shooter (and what I thought the Division should have been more like) but I still found enough in the game to like.
If you do get it, let me know what you think of it.
