Next year is vanguards and heavies. So UBI doesn't like assassins. However they needed some sort of pattern.

He's not op. In my opinion. He's a very versatile class that could make it very frustrating. But I can out dodge him and return punishment.

There are only 2 assassin's in the top 5.

Peacekeeper and gladiator are top tier, sure. Orochi, Berserker and Shinobi are mediocre at best.

Hybrid assassin's aren't assassin's any more than they're vanguard's or heavies.

But as far as overall diversity is concerned, yes we could use more vans and heavys to balance things out next year, which I'd like to think they already realize.
