I still think it was mainly because for the first year release at least, there are those who only play one faction's characters who would complain otherwise but we will have to see the state of things when the characters drop and later when there is the lag compensation stuff. Most people seemed to believe that the gladiator and highlander were much more balanced than the centurion and shinobi when they first dropped so hopefully they keep that progress going.
I don't entirely see what the problem is. I get it if you have a hard time fighting against assassins but you also gotta remember they're labeled hard for a reason. sure you can learn the combos but then you have to learn how to mix them up and some assassins, such as orochi, are limited in how diverse that mix up can be. then there's the low hp and the fact that most of our movesets are very well telegraphed (except for pk). some people have issues fighting against assassins but as an assassins i still come up against really good vanguard or heavy classes that just mop the floor with me. The only reason that is, is because that player has put the most amount of time and effort into their character and are confident enough and able to win with them no matter the situation.
I can't feel sorry for you too badly in this regard. But i do hope you don't judge all assassins that harshly, because we do have the hardest classes to fight with (except pk)
(no offense candle lol i know you don't cheese the **** out of her lights like some do. )
all of that being said light spam may be cheesy, but if you're going to sit their and turtle up then yes i will give you death by a thousand cuts, because i'm not going to give you a free kill just cause you don't like playing offensively.
Dodge attack is the most powerful/reliable defensive tool in the game and a lot of people like myself prefer to have access to that in exchange for permanent block. the real winners are raider, kensei, and Valkyrie because they've been blessed with both, but they still lack the ability to attack instantly from any stance without a transitional delay.
All that being said, there's nothing OP about assassin's in general, a lot of people just prefer speed and mobility.
Who cares?
Eh can't say I can argue, the way people use her annoys the hell out of me. I'm still hoping she gets a rework some time so she has more mix up potential over keeping her light spam icon status.Originally Posted by seaners95 Go to original post
9 times out of 10. If i get my storm rush off you eat a double top with a zone. Then I usually GB because most people feel compelled after they CGB to throw out an attack. Which usually misses because i'm already sitting in my storm rush waiting for it. Rinse and repeat. Amazing how people forget that routine in a game.
Most classes that open with a top "jump" attack. I wait untill they're in range and do my riptide strike. Why? because its either Parry to top combo, zone. Or heavy to zone.
Every now and then I get frisky and try to do my chain attacks. Usually ends in getting parried though. But its a fun thought that we have chains!
Try doing two zone attacks in a row without going OOS. Hell one zone attack to a parried attack will knock an Orochi to OOS. And with this global stamina recovery nerf. My best defense (dodging) Now is my enemy to recover stamina. One time I had 3 deflects and 5 dodges before I got back to stamina.Originally Posted by BarbeQMichael Go to original post
Kensei has better combos, can pull off Orochi's dodge attacks, has better range than orochi, more utility and damage output. I rarely like using heavy. It does **** for damage. The reward for the risk is worthless unless I have my slipthrough active.
The only thing I'm angry is that this little one handed bastard assassins are getting heavy attacks in as potent as mine. Why when I have two hands on my sword I do the same damage as a guy with one hand on a weapon? Berserker is fine he's attack with both at the same time.
