    Shinobi''s kick is still absurd

I don't get how anyone can play that class and not realize it's like putting a massive handicap on. Does his health matter when all his attacks are essentially risk free. The devs need to nerf that more, if I dodge it he shouldn't be able to follow up after.

Rep 4 Shinobi here. I main Highlander now. I'm reformed promise. I agree he needs looking into mainly for the tools he has for followup after a kick failed or otherwise. Depending on reactions and skill of a decent player you're going to end up eating the kick and following heavy or a GB if you react too fast or ranged GB (worst case scenario) if you miss grabbing the back flip or whiff a heavy in retaliation. Best case you're back to neutral neither of you have advantage until the Shinobi tries again.

If his kick tracked your dodge you mistimed your dodge or something is going wrong connection wise.

The shinobi kick is risk free only if you play certain char man.

First, Gladiator, Valkyrie, Orochi, Peacekeeper, Berserker, Conq, Raider, and Kensei; all have an answer to the shino kick in the form of dodging attacks.

Then, for those who punish it differently:
    - Shino it self can either dodge it and follow up with a double light, or answer with the kick him self.
    - Nobushi simply needs to get the hidden stance timing and then get get a light+bleed punish for the kick.

Finally those who can't punish it:
    - Warden.
    - Lawbringer.
    - Centurion.
    - Highlander.
    - Warlord (For some reason, the Warlord can get a gb out of a left or a right kick tho)
    - Shugoki (Yet, even tho he can't punish it in a normal state, Shugoki gameplay is supposed to be centered around his hyper armor, completely neglecting the kick.)

Note: Even tho those char can't get a proper punish after dodging a kick, they overall still can dodge it and then feint one of their attack to bait a post-backflip ranged gb.

    Conclusion:
In my opinion the Shino kick isn't particularly overpowered. It simply can counters some chars but other than that he's ok. I think the problem with most people is that they think for some reason that they can get a strong punish out of a kick dodge.

A missed kick should give enough recovery frames for the Shinobi so you can GB. Given that Kick is an UB with hyper armor, which if it hits guarantees an attack, it's WAY too safe and powerful.

    No it isn’t.
The concept of the shinobi is too be a pure glass cannon: super deadly but super fragile.
In order for him to be effective, devs did a great job by giving him a offensive kit based on perpetual adaptation and reaction instead of usual all-in «*hope for the best*» type of combos; thus making him one of the char with the largest learning curve.
A good shino will be hard to catch while a bad one will die in no time.
Proportionally to his life pool, every usual punish end up being twice as powerfull on the shino than on any other char; so a free gb after a kick would be a ridiculous change and will make shino close to unplayable.

Simply learn what you can do to punish the kick with your char, don’t anticipate and simply focus to react to the moves them selves, learn when you can safely punish the shino and when you can’t; and I assure you that you’ll have no problem fighting him.

P.S: For me, the shinobi life pool buff was a bad idea since it was thought as a 4v4 change while also making the shino stronger in 1v1. For me, the shino should have a feat to have that extra life.

For most Shino players maybe. But I can assure you, as a Rep 10 PC Plat 3 Shino, that a good shino really doesn’t need that buff. When well played, a shino can be a complete pain in the *** to catch and giving him 20 more HP, considering that the lat bar regens, often means that you’ll need to catch him one more time than you would usually need to in order to kill him.

As a shino player ofc I don’t mind the buff; but lately I’ve been reading a lot a Shino complaints and thus Im afraid of an inc nerf that would destroy the char. I higly prefer going back to last life pool than to have a kick nerf for instance.

They need to take the super armor off his kick.
I can side dash heavy the shinobi kick as Nobushi. But if I start up my kick, its slow enough for the Shinobi to quickly double dodge and kick back.
He wins overall even though mine came out faster because his has armor behind it and mines don't.

In my opinon I'm rep 20 shinobi they gave him enough health for a light putting him in line with every other hero and the kick is a death sentence in high level player unless your ganking if they parry your on your assistance you go for gb your on your assistance. the deflect is a stronger tool for the kick then the double dash no gb attempt. the reason they are complaining is the buff made him viable and not a easy kill or the light spam problem (console) and there taking health the last bar of health regain away I think so to then take away the health buff wouldnt be a good thing 90 hp is 2 heavy and maybe a light
